AKS at Pitt Race in July Includes USPKS Warm-up July 19-20

Pittsburgh, PA (July 2, 2014) – The newly formed Allegheny Karting Series shifts in to high gear in July as the series features another double race weekend – July 19th & 20th.  These races make for a double header the week before the highly anticipated USPKS event July 25-27th. For this event AKS will add several run groups for drivers wishing to run MG tires in preparation for the USPKS race while still contesting the full slate of AKS classes on the series spec Bridgestone YLC tires.

The AKS series will offer the standard class structure competing on Bridgestone YLC tires both days:

CRP Racing/Top Kart USA Kid Kart

      Allegheny Financial Group Cadet

      Summertime Racing/Ninety-9 Design Yamaha Rookie

      Checkered Motorsports Yamaha Sportsman

      Zero Error Racing Yamaha Junior

      Comet Kart Sales Yamaha Senior

      J3 Competition TAG Junior

      Cook Racing Engines TAG Senior

      Kartwerks LO 206/Clone

Thanks to support from DB Motorsports and MG Tires, both days will also offer classes on MG Tires for Yamaha Rookie/Cadet, Mini-Rok, Yamaha Junior/Pro and Leopard Junior/Pro.

Racers can enter multiple classes and run the specified tire in each respective class. Regular Pre-entry cost for the first class is $60 and each additional is $40. Thanks to the support of MG tires and DB Motorsports, drivers entered in a standard AKS class for $60 can enter a second MG tire class for $30.

For people interested in attending the AKS race and the following USPKS race, Pitt Race will make accommodations for trailer storage. Please contact Michael Howe at Pitt Race for details: m.howe@pittrace.com / 724.535.1000.
