ok the chassis went thru the “wheelabrator” 3 times and just couldn’t remove all the powder coat from all the books and crannies so they opted to use a very very light media blast and it removed about 99% of what didn’t get by hand but the problem I have/had is the media blast left a rough texture to the metal. So I’m thinking now I MUST re powder coat it or at least paint it but after finding a hidden crack, I’d prefer to leave it bare for inspections. So, I took a scotch pad and went over the whole thing and to be honest, it’s growing on me. It doesn’t look all that bad. Sort of a polished metal look. It’s really smooth too! I’m leaning on leaving it  bare after I go over it with the pad or maybe some 320 paper. In the pics you can get an idea as to where I’m at and also see the crack I fixed before the blast.

As for leaving the frame bear, Ours are. It’s easier to find cracks for sure. We do spray them with some silicone spray or wd-40 after cleaning and inspecting before each race. PAINT doesn’t make them any faster!!!!!

Kelly from what I’m told it was made by CKI but I don’t think it’s the current CKI in the Carolinas. I’ve also been told this may be an older “slingshot”!
Hey I might even be legal for the vintage class! LOL
Also after going over it with 320 I’ll probably just keep it bare.

Definitely a Slingshot.  Just an earlier version than what I have.

Yea Bruce and after comparing the two, there’s been a LOT of changes between them!
