Is it easy to change out the stator on an MY09 Leopard? Just bolt on the new one or is there anything special that needs done? We have isolated our electrical problem of cutting out at higher rpms to be the stator going bad.
Should be as easy as it looks. Look in the overhaul manual and you’ll it;s just the four screws that hold the stator in place. if you’re replacing the rotor as well, you’ll need a piston stop.
Wondering how you figured out that it was the stator breaking down without having swapped it out?

Tony, tried a different motor and it ran fine with the same electronics. So we thought it was either the stator or the coil. New stator seems to have fixed it. Note: do not put the rotor on upside down or it will not run.
