      Hi,

I am a 56 year old kid who has been a motorcycle and racing fan all of my life. Recently, I sold my motocross bike and I’m taking a break to see if I want to go back to mx bikes or try something new. Karting looks interesting to me. Where is a good place to learn about how you start?  This site or other sites? Go to an event and walk the pits? Any direction would be appreciated.

      Thank you,

      Brian

This is a great site for learning about karting but your best bet is definitely to check things out in person. Find one or more local tracks and just go hang out to watch. Do the same with dealers or kart providers in your area because you’ll need support, both in the way of advice and parts. Ask lots of questions and use your best judgement. Good luck and you will have a blast!!

Perfect. You can hit up Badger Kart Club or Concept Haulers Motor Speedway. To really get hands on, head up to Franklin Motorsports outside Milwaukee. The Sieracki family will get you set up with everything you need to get started.

      Welcome Brian,

I am also 56 and have been racing go karts just about all my life.  I like all forms of the sport.  I currently run laydown enduros in the Championship Enduro Series.  It is based in your area and a great group of people to race with.  Anything I can help you with please let me know.

Call LAD Specialties, Bridgeview, IL. Talk to Don or Scott.

      (708) 430-1588. They can explain to you what is local, sprint or enduro. What is available for sale.
