      KARTING CENTER MANAGER

      A. Overview:
      Successfully manage and execute the day-to-day operations of the simraceway performance karting center to make it a premier karting facility on the West Coast.

      B. Reports to:
      Director of Operations

      C. Classification:
      Full Time Exempt

      D. Essential Job Functions:

      Overall management of the simraceway performance karting center to include but not limited to:

      1. Develop budget and financial projections
      2. Help to reduce and lower operational costs where possible
      3. Maintain inventory levels
      4. Review pricing levels of all programs and adjust to meet market standards
      5. Redesign course offerings with relevant curricula
      6. Devise overall operational plan for karting center
      7. Follow-up on sales leads to meet and/or exceed goals with focus on corporate sales and individual school sales
      8. Manage the marketing of the facility and its programs
      9. Manage track activities and event coordination
      10. Manage kart track maintenance
      11. Work to bring new kart series and races to the facility
      12. Implement rules and safety programs
      13. Manage and train kart staff
      14. Present new innovative ideas and programs to executive management team
      15. Work with other operational managers (crew chief manager and program logistics manager) to maintain high quality programs
      General Responsibilities and Duties

      1. Instructing customers on safe usage of the karts, kart track, paddock area and pit lane.
      2. Supervising/monitoring customers on the track, paddock area and pit lane.
      3. Manage having karts prepared for each kart event
      4. Manage the opening of the track on time for public
      5. Maintain monthly/yearly kart track calendar that will include schools, corporate, track rentals and open practice days.
      6. Operate track equipment; check safety and conditions of the track; safety of track – debris, tires, etc; assist drivers and maintain the track, karts and the venue as directed.
      7. Cashier; daily cash balance; coordination of signing of waivers.

      E. Additional Expectations
      1. Adheres to Emotive / Jim Russell policies, procedures and practices
      2. Performs other duties as assigned/required

      F. Qualifications:
      1. College Degree
      2. Basic Mechanic Skills
      3. Intermediate Computer Skills
      4. Clean and Valid License
      5. Knowledge of karts, kart racing and track management
      6. Multi-task and establish priorities
      7. Maintain organization in a changing environment
      8. Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
      9. Handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
      10. Team player. Able to contribute positively to the organization
      11. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and presentation skill
      12. Assertive, outgoing, and friendly with a desire for fun and a strong work ethic
      13. Interest in motorsports
      14. Must be available to work weekends
      15. Strong sales experience and track record
      16. Safety awareness

      G. Activity Requirements:
      1. Physical Effort:
      a. Normal physical mobility and agility (reach above the head, bend or stoop)
      b. Normal physical strength to handle 50 and up to 200 pound objects, taking frequency into consideration; ability to move swiftly and be able to push as much weight as a two-seater kart.
      c. Normal physical ability to sit or stand for various/long durations of time
      d. Normal dexterity of hands and fingers
      e. Normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot
      f. Use of computer, copier and telephone frequently
      2. Mental Effort:
      a. Normal concentration and memory
      b. Normal complexity of decision making
      3. Work Environment:
      a. Normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes; rain or shine track is open
