Just bought this kart from Canada, my first kart ever so it’s been a learning process. Motor is 125 Maxter ICC with a Dellorto VHSH 30 carb with a 150 main jet. What jets do I need to buy and how do I select the proper jet assuming I know the temp and barometric pressure? And how do I get the needle out of the slider? I know it has a clip on it to make it rich/lean too.

Go to Dellorto’s website and look up the vhsh 30, there is a ton of tuning info for these engines/carb’s out there.

All I have found are some vague articles in pdf format, some guides to purchase, and some discussion threads that don’t answer my questions. Anyone?

For a first ever kart, you sure jumped into the deep end of the pool! It would be a real good idea to find some experienced tuning help “before” you go out on track with this, lest you have a really expensive “oops” moment. ICC’s are wonderful to drive, but they are EXPENSIVE to fix… I don’t recommend tuning by email. Get this thing sorted out properly & have patience, it takes a while to figure these out to the point where it is fun.

Firestonekartinfo.com was a good investment.  He has a newsletter on jetting that is worth the read.

I would also contact Maxter for advice.
