prepping a used but new to me kart for Roebling Road

its a Yamaha with pipe but I also have a can muffler too.

I changed, due to prior advice, from a 10 degree mount to a flat mount.

Can anyone help me with what length the flex or in this case the solid pipe between the header and actual pipe should be? Also what hearing is best to start with? I know from past these are race secrets and I’m really not gonna be a threat but I don’t want to go that far and be a duck out of water either.

I have new and used Dunlop tires  and just about anything else I might need including another fresh motor and if I don’t have it, I can and will buy it.

the pipe info is holding me up from going further on the build so any info is appreciated.

if you feel more comfortable sending it privately,  or calling feel free

    my number is 863-559-9067

It depends where you are racing.  Long straights and big turns longer flex. Short straights tight turns shorter flex. Gear for the bottom pipe for the top. I would put the 10 degree mount back on for better cooling.

    I run a track in Texas that is 3/8 mile 7 turn so I run a F1

It’s an RLV but not sure which one it is exactly. Went to their web site and can’t decipher from the pics which one i have. Sent a pic to a well known racer and he thinks it’s an old A4 whatever that is.

When i got the kart it had a piece about 7″ long between the header and the actual pipe.

Guess I’ll just start there and adjust!

anyone care to share gearing for Roebling Road

If it’s an A4 then the measurement from the face of the piston to the end of the connecting tube (flex) should be 7 1/2 to 8 inches. Tune from there.
