Ok so it’s not that basic but heres my question:

we aquired a kart and when I hooked up my kt100 to it the full line goes from the engine to the tank.  . From the tank it is at the top but stops there.  There is a green hose that goes from the bottom of the gas tank to the top and from there it goes to the overflow bottle.  Am I missing something?  Should the clear tube go from the engine to the tank and drop into the bottom of the tank to pick up fuel( there is a fuel filter on the end)

I’m trying to attach a link for a photo.  Hope it works.

You got it. The fuel line connections are backwards. The green line should go to the fitting that has no line connected to it in the tank. The fuel line connected to the engine should to the fitting that has a line dropping down into the tank. That line should also have a weighted end.

Tony, Thanks. Any idea why they would have had it reversed?  our inexperience we have only dealt with a tank that had one cap with two hoses coming out. One to the overflow and the other was the fuel line( and just one fuel line inside the tank) .  Surprised it was backwards knowing the previous owner of the kart.

Caulk it up to an oops. With the type of tank you have, one of the fittings usually has one red cap and one black with the red being the supply. Yours has two red.

The green one is just a vent hose, that’s why it goes to the overflow bottle (catch can)

The clear white one goes to the engine.

Make sure to disconnect the green one from the catch can, and blow through it, disconnect the one at the engine (carburetor feed ) till it bleeds out, so that you remove air pockets, let it drip for a bit, then hook it back up.

This is very important to do before you start the engine, and you may have to do that though out your race heats or practice sessions, or when you notice air pockets on the fuel line.
