Video from the Vintage Kart Races from TNT Kartways, aka the Historic Quincy, from a couple weekends ago. This first time back for the vintage karts to the track with the recent passing of Gus Traeder. They really put on a great event. Terry and the Miles family have worked very hard in doing track repairs and restoration. It was great to see and the improvements have been many and well done. Is it super smooth like New Castle or US Air, heck no, but it does have character, and has been improved greatly over what it was last year.
Thursday practice was hot, and I mean super hot, like 104F with very high humidity. Video from my helmet cam in two 1962 Alley Kat II reproduction karts, one with a single Mac and the other with a pair of West Bend 820 motors. The dual engine gave me fits all weekend.
And from the Races Friday Night and Saturday, I ran in the Mc49 Class which was combined with the Sportsman Rear Engine Class, putting the three faster Sportsman Rear karts in the front.
For Race #3, I combined (through dropbox) 4 different driver’s helmet cameras and a bumper cam as well. It worked really well and was a really fun race. A few of the karts dropped out, so as a group we decided to invert the field scored on points from the first 2 races to make it a bit more interesting.
