I want to start competitive karting next year but I am struggling to find a karting club near me. I have found one in Ohio(OVKA) but it is 2 hours away. Just wondering if anyone knows a karting club within an 1 hour from Louisville Kentucky.

        Hi Omar,

I race at OVKA for quite a few years, we have members that travel from Frankfort, Florance and further from Kentucky , also from Mansfield Ohio and as far away as Illinois . Why ? Because of the races we put on, we average over 100 single entries every raceday.  So we must be doing something that makes it worth while for them to be willing to travel to race with us.

You can  practice all day for $10 and meet for great people to will help you.
$35 for driver’s first kart class entry.
$30 for each additional kart class entry, entered by the same driver

You can race all 14 races in a our series or  as many as you want.

You will get a lot of help to be competitive with a very family friendly atmosphere .

Please feel free to shoot me a pm to my number and I will glad to help you out.

I don’t know of anything within an hour’s drive of Louisville but there are individual (dirt) tracks certainly within that radius in both Indiana and Kentucky.

If you want to stick to pavement, however, you could try the SIRA club which gets as far south as Columbus (IN), which is about 75 minutes from Louisville or go south to the AMPS club based in Nashville (TN).

Are you wanting in Omar or for your kids? PM me and I can give you contacts for information….

      Hi Omar,

I live in Louisville and race at Newcastle, IN.

      http://www.newcastleraceway.com/

The track is a little over 2 hours away, it’s sprint asphalt.  Awesome organization, one of the nicest tracks in the country.   They also have a few classes that would be great if you’re just starting out.  Clone is the most affordable way to get started and Newcastle usually has 20+ entries and two classes you can race in.  Tons of people in Yamaha if you want to go a little faster, and they also have a Novice TAG class if you want to go really fast (also close to 20 entries per event).
