To all Sprint track owners, promoters, sponsors, manufactures, shops, racers and anyone who wants to participate. To kick this LO206 program off please plan to call into a general open to all meet me line conference call on Wednesday October 22 at 8:00 pm eastern time.
Call in phone number = 605-562-0020
Participant code = 704 407 016 #This will be the beginning of a series of conf calls that will take place each week starting next Wednesday. For this first meeting it will be very general just to inform everyone about this program and the future plans going forward. Meeting will be organized and everyone will be on mute for first 5 minutes while I explain the intent for this program. Then everyone will be un-muted and state by state including Canada in alphabetical order it will be open for general discussion state by state ( 2 minutes max per state ).
Once we get better established and organized there will be a list of all the tracks that are participating in the 2015 LO206 classes.
Please take some time to inform everyone you know that is interested in hearing about this 2015 LO206 program.
Thanks

Out of curiosity What “Program” is this in comparison to what Briggs has already established?
Thanks,
Tony

Tony, I believe this is more of a collaboration to get tracks on board with the same rule structure – based around the engine rules that Briggs & Stratton have set out. The idea is to try and help grow the LO206 program at as many sprint tracks around the country as possible to begin a foundation for a strong grassroots karting program. EKN has been pushing the engine package for three years now, and seen a strong growth around the country and has some ideas in the works as well to help further the growth.

Thanks to everyone who participated in last nights LO206 meeting, we had 33 callers in this meeting. First step is to develop a directory of all the tracks in US and Canada that are racing the LO206 and their classes. If you know of any tracks, e mail me or post on this thread.
Next meeting will be Wednesday October 29 at 8:00 pm eastern time.

We are establishing a good size list of tracks racing the LO206 program. I am sure there are a lot more out there so e mail me the track name or web site so we can add to the list. As I mentioned before the web site http://www.Racingwhere.com, thanks to Richard Thoms, will have a Badge dedicated for the LO206 racing tracks program directory.
Thanks again for all the support!

As a service to everyone looking to race LO206, David Cox and I put together this interactive map with all the tracks in the US that offered the LO206 package in 2014. We’re LO206 enthusiasts ourselves so we thought this would help others out too. This was all taken from track websites that posted their class offerings information.
We’re working on a spreadsheet comparing all the LO206 rules variations across the country to help all the tracks and series looking at rules for 2015 (hopefully more commonality!)
Steve if you could share the tracks/series that have contacted you that would help us get it as accurate as possible. team@kartrank.com will go to David and I.

(Note: not trying to compete with the Racingwhere.com plan…just had the track info and this was the best way to get it out there)

Hey everyone, since the next call looks very focused on rules, David Cox and I put together some data on the rules being run nationwide. We looked at 118 different LO206 classes (every one we could find data on) to come up with some recommended rule sets for maximum commonality: http://kartrank.com/lo206-data
There is a lot of data there so I’ll copy the short version here:
Briggs LO206 Kid Kart
Ages:5-7
Engine:Briggs LO206 Junior (4100RPM limiter and #555728 slide)
Exhaust: Briggs Spec (RLV 5507/5506 header with RLV B91 (4104) silencer)
Clutch: Briggs Spec (Max-Torque #555727)
Tires: 4.5 Front/4.5 Rear (Compound per track, Bridgestone YLC/YDS or MG HZ (Red) if possible)
Minimum Weight: 200 lbs
Bodywork: CIK or Gold CupBriggs LO206 Rookie
Ages:8-12
Engine:Briggs LO206
Exhaust: Briggs Spec (RLV 5507/5506 header with RLV B91 (4104) silencer)
Slide: Green
Clutch: Briggs Spec (Shoe clutches only)
Tires: 4.5 Front/4.5 Rear (Compound per track, Bridgestone YLC/YDS or MG HZ (Red) if possible)
Minimum Weight: 260 lbs
Bodywork: CIK or Gold CupBriggs LO206 Junior
Ages:12-15
Engine:Briggs LO206
Exhaust: Briggs Spec (RLV 5507/5506 header with RLV B91 (4104) silencer)
Slide: Yellow
Clutch: Briggs Spec (Shoe clutches only)
Tires: 4.5 Front/6.0 Rear (Compound per track, Bridgestone YLC/YDS or MG HZ (Red) if possible)
Minimum Weight: 300 lbs
Bodywork: CIK or Gold CupBriggs LO206 Senior
Ages:15+
Engine:Briggs LO206
Exhaust: Briggs Spec (RLV 5507/5506 header with RLV B91 (4104) silencer)
Slide: Stock
Clutch: Briggs Spec (Shoe clutches only)
Tires: 4.5 Front/7.1 Rear (Compound per track, Bridgestone YLC/YDS or MG HZ (Red) if possible)
Minimum Weight: 375 lbs
Bodywork: CIK or Gold CupBriggs LO206 Masters
There are not enough Masters classes (only 5 nationwide) to make a recommendation. Of the classes that exist the rules were in line with LO206 Senior (except age), so there does not seem to be a compelling reason to offer a Masters class separate from Senior. -

Pretty sure Badger Kart Club @ Briggs & Stratton Raceway is running 206. Don’t think I saw them on either list.

For the 206 cup, if you are running gold cup bodywork 50″, if C.I.K. then 55″.

Those that want to learn more about the LO206 class at Pitt Race should attend the Karting Open House on March 28th from 12PM – 4PM. The track will be making some announcements regarding the season and a few of the LO206 class racers will be there too.
It’ll be a good opportunity to talk about the class and share LO206 information.

Grand Junction Motor Speedway has club racing with LO206 in addition to the one CJKA series race. Not sure on the rules, but they use the B&S engine rules with a Duro tire. They vary the weight from race to race. Class is new there and only a handful racing there. I am putting a kart together for my son to run there.
