      *SOLD*

Update 7/27/2015: The engine just sold, so I am closing this thread and moving the chassis over to the chassis for-sale section.

      http://ekartingnews.com/forums/topic/2014-crg-braga-shifter-roller-w-duralcan-brakes-mag-hubs/

All the other parts and extras are for sale in this thread:

      http://ekartingnews.com/forums/topic/getting-out-of-karting-sale-includes-crg-shifter-stuff/

Well, the baby/wife aren’t exactly “forcing” me to sell, but it’s close enough. I’m getting too much grief every time I try to go to the track and it’s not worth racing if I’m going to have to keep showing up on race day without any practice.

For sale is a barely used 2014 CRG Road Rebel Braga with every option you could want for national-level competition. It has all of the lightweight options from CRG: Duralcan (ceramic/aluminum composite) brakes, magnesium hubs and bearing carriers, and lightweight bodywork. It has a full MRC 2001 Honda CR125 engine package for SKUSA competition and a MyChron 4 for data logging. It also has a medium Champion radiator — which is the lightest radiator I know of that can withstand running in 100-degree weather. If you want a lighter kart than this, you’re going to have to start peeling decals off.

The engine has a brand new top end (0 hours — it’s not even broken in yet). It has 5 hours on the cylinder / head and 18 hours on the bottom end / transmission. It has Swedetech reeds and everything required for SKUSA competition (including a SKUSA SK-1 pipe and the blue SKUSA ignition timing plate).

The chassis always had skid protectors on it, so the underside is free of any wear or major scratches.

The kart was only used for half a season and very few practice days since purchased new (and that’s why I’m selling). Normally, when you see a kart like this for sale, it’s because the owner wrecked, bent their chassis out of whack, bent it back to sell it, and wants to start fresh with a new chassis. That’s not the case here. It’s never had any hard contact and looks brand new. I ran the 2014 season in S-4 Magnum with LAKC (which has a 440 lb minimum weight). This kart got me a class podium in all 5 LAKC races I entered (including 1 win and 3 2nd-place finishes). On days when I was driving well, it ran mid-pack with the S-4 guys (who have a 405 lb minimum weight — 35 lbs lighter than the minimum in my class). Darren Elliot and Rob Logan took turns driving it one practice day and both were immediately a few tenths faster in my kart than in their own karts that same day.

This package retails new for about $13,500. You can cash in on my loss and take it home for $9,700. I’m in no rush to sell and am upset enough to be selling this after so little use, so please don’t send me low-ball offers.

      Price drop 2/23/2015: now $9,200

      Price drop 4/8/2015: now $8,900

      Price drop 5/29/2015: $8,600

I have everything you would need to start karting from scratch (stands, different hubs, extra wheels, practice tires, alignment tools, etc.). If you need that stuff as well, we can work something out.

Bob, If someone buys the kart and doesn’t want the stand, then I will be. But until the kart sells, I need to hang onto the stand.

John, will you sell just the chassis? No seat, no radiator, no mychron, no motor- just the rolling chassis. Bob Legate. Boblegate@cox.net

I’m getting a few people pinging me via PM about splitting it up and selling either the roller or the engine package. I don’t want to end up with a bare chassis or bare engine sitting in my garage for a long time. So if I go that route, I’m going to need to coordinate the chassis and engine sales to happen at basically the same time.

I would be willing to break it up for the following prices:

Engine package for $3,600. This would include the MRC engine mount and all of the stuff bolted to the engine (the carb, SKUSA pipe/mount, silencer/mount, etc.) as well as the fuel pump and ignition system.

Rolling chassis (with the seat and Douglas wheels) for $5,600.

One more thing… I’m considering doing next weekend’s race at Willow Springs, so the engine time might go up by an hour or two if I don’t get any firm commitments in the next couple of days. If I do run the race at Willow Springs, I will refresh the top end after the race for the buyer (with a new piston, ring, cir clips, wrist pin, head gasket and base gasket).

I updated the original post to reflect updated hours on the engine. I ran a race a couple weekends ago, so the total engine time went up slightly, but I did a top end refresh (new piston/ring/gaskets/etc) after the race.

Just dropped the price again. Guys — this is seriously as close to a brand new kart as you can get without dropping way more money on a brand new kart. And it’s got everything top-of-the-line.

Okay folks, dropping the price again. It hasn’t been driven since March and is still cherry. $8,600 now.

Hi John — I tried calling you yesterday and sent you an email with my contact info. Let me know if you don’t get the email for some reason.

I had a couple people lined up to buy the kart and thought it was a done deal, but both seem to have fallen through. It’s still for sale and still hasn’t been driven since March. I haven’t even broken in the top end. If it doesn’t sell before the August ProKart race at Adams, I’ll probably bring it out and run in that race.
