We have no issue with adding LOCAL OPTION classes as long as it doesn’t create to many reaces per day (No 8+ races a day for sure, been there done that – sucks). YOU give me class names, rules, sponsorship and make sure that there are entries other then our regulars (including yourself) I AM IN!!!
Offering the same exact class later in the day just like many rr events do would be my professional recommendation. You have 1 dozen open motor shifters in Sprint 125 Shifter per the information given, offer the same rules package later in the day on both days. 4 X the fun. Or offer the SPRINT STOCK HONDA class as the second set of classes to run, I’d choose IKF/WKA rules over SKUSA for that class.
You want me to confirm YOUR entries? Sure I can do that as soon as YOU confirm I have a winning lottery ticket. Offering events are like running a race, sometimes you suck and fail and sometimes you hit the jackpot taking gold. Only guarantee is if you don’t try you’ll never know. Offer the classes see what happens. Just run the class with another group don’t add any other races.
As for 80 shifters, we don’t have but a few 80′s here in our area and 2 only wanted to run 1 day and the other went to the Open & A-limited classes so they had people to race against.
Understood, I was only thinking 80 if it was a large following.
Off the top of my head (ouch), as far as NATIONAL LEVEL classes, I believe probably the only one I can think of is a SPRINT STOCK HONDA class KART does not have that would be a good class to add. YOU must remember, LAYDOWNS are still a big thing back here in our area. ALSO, with the economy, very few people can afford to race more then once per day.
Laydowns are great, I love the laydown but they are all but extinct where I am and what your after is attracting guys like me from far away to your event with whatever I have in the tailor. No classes for me or not enough classes and I won’t spend the thousands of dollars to get to your race. Are you certain laydowns in your area are the BIG THING because your limiting your runners to that combination with these classes? Extra costs for racing more than once per day are minimal unless your blowing up stuff. USKGP, IKF, all run second classes later in the day if you like. In stock moto your looking at a tank of fuel, 2 tear offs and killing off a set of tires you ran earlier in the day.Stock moto has it’s plus, it runs and runs and runs no problems.
Stock moto here had 2 the first year then 6 the second, now it’s the monster that keeps rr karting alive in the west. Main thing is you gotta keep the door open while things grow. I have a feeling if I plan for stock moto at your race I can draw runners to the class for you but your not looking at a 100 kart grid your probably talking 10 or so the first time around.
As for 125 shifters, thinking about a dozen or so. all are quick!!!
I know they are quick, we would like to run with them. Not many left in Open across this fine country, we go where they are when we can.
As for our Unlimited and the Superkart classes. I had talked to everyone who is/has ran our Unlimited class before putting the schedule together. 1st, we added a L.O. Sat Unlimited due to the B-Stocker group from the East are coming and IF any others who can run this class did show, they had 2 places to race. 2nd, The few Unlimited racers (250 gearbox) we have, want to race with the Superkarts and the Superkarts only want to run with the Superkarts so there is no crossover anyway.
I’m not gonna argue, it’s your rodeo.
Did I answer questions??
I think you did but I DON”T see the NEED for all the CAPS. I get your points.
