“Blueprinting” a spec motor, in my small, relatively inexperienced world, simply means having a motor builder take apart, go through and reassemble the motor more carefully than Luigi/Hans did at the Iame/Rotax factory. This should be a $300 or so job, and worthwhile in my opinion. If your builder starts swapping parts and dyno testing, this is no longer “blueprinting”, it’s “part selection” (and where things get very expensive). For $1,200 I would expect a lot more than a tear-down/re-build.
