Today was a battle with the weather, as rain covered the area for much of the day. With the forecast calling for ZERO rain on Saturday and Sunday, many felt to save tires and equipment by not practicing. The final session of the day had nearly a dry track, but streams of water still existed. This limited the pace for all categories, with some drivers still electing not to compete.
Off the track, DD2 Masters driver Alan Rudolph will see his win streak come to an end Saturday, as he will not be able competing. Rudolph has an event at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. He flew back tonight to attend, and is set for a return flight tomorrow night to be ready for Sunday’s final round of action. That will make his Round Five race the drop, allowing him to finish the drive to the championship in Round Six.
