Earning the 2020 ROK Vegas 100cc Junior victory and the 2022 ROK Vegas Junior ROK Championship, Jorge Ortiz is ready for 2023. Moving to the senior ranks with the potent Speed Concepts Racing program, Ortiz will begin his new campaign this coming weekend at the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series at the AMR Motorplex in Homestead, Florida.
“It is going to be an exciting year, and I can’t wait to get started,” explained Jorge Ortiz. “Moving to senior will be no small task but I am up for the challenge. I know I have the best team behind me in SCR as well as powerful engines with Speed Lab Racing Engines. While we have yet to decide on which chassis, we have tested a few different brands. Stay tuned!”
Set to kick off his season at the SKUSA Winter Series, Ortiz will also take part in the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour ROK Senior class as well as the United States Pro Kart Series X30 Pro division. As a rookie in the senior category but with a wealth of experience and results from the junior ranks, the goal for 2023 is to not only learn as much as possible but fight for race wins and podium results as the season progresses.
Ortiz added, “There are a ton of great drivers in the senior categories, so I know that I have my work cut out for me.”
Set to hit the track on Thursday, Jorge Ortiz will work towards the weekend where they will compete in rounds one and two on Saturday and Sunday.
