It was the final trip to the New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP) this season as Canadian Ayden Ingratta would do battle in the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) one last time. Battling in the talent filled X30 Pro Junior ranks, Ingratta entered the weekend third in the National Championship points chase but left Indiana with fourth and ninth place results.
“It wasn’t the weekend we were hoping for but results like these give me that much more motivation for the future,” explained Ingratta. “A huge thanks to everyone involved for a successful season to date, and we have a few more races to go to try and finish on top.”
Entering the weekend with a shot at the USPKS X30 Pro Junior National Championship, Ayden Ingratta started his official competition on Saturday morning with a solid third-place effort in qualifying. Moving forward in the prefinal to take the win for Speed Concepts Racing and Speed Lab Racing Engines, Ingratta lined up on the inside of the front row for the day’s main event where he was hoping a victory was on the horizon.
Ingratta added, “The final did not go as we had liked. I battled hard at the front of the field but came up just a bit short in the end and finished fourth. Not ideal but we did gain some points in our chase for the championship. We will be back tomorrow for a second opportunity to stand atop the podium.”
Returning to the track Sunday, Ingratta qualified on the outside of row two before a disappointing finish in the prefinal that saw him in 12th. Looking to rebound in the final, Ingratta was able to drive his Speed Concepts prepared machine into the top-ten and finish ninth.
Ingratta continued, “We will regroup and come back better and stronger for our next events. There are a few big races on the horizon, and I plan on winning them all!”
