Skip Barber Formula Race Series – Lime Rock Park F4 Race Preview
The 2022 Skip Barber Formula Race Series season kicks off this weekend at Lime Rock Park in conjunction with the first-ever Skip Barber Homecoming Weekend. The 1.53-mile road course has hosted many Skip Barber races in the past, but this will be the first with the new Skip Barber Formula car. The first round of the 7-round season will see a variety of drivers from first-time racers to veterans of the series.
Top drivers across all motorsports across the world have started their racing journey through the Race Series. Sergio Perez, Alexander Rossi, Josef Newgarden, Ryan Hunter-Reay, A.J. Allmendinger, and Juan Pablo Montoya are just some of the names of previous Skip Barber Race Series drivers. With equalized race cars and a focus on driver development, the Skip Barber Formula Race Series is the perfect platform for the aspiring racer to jumpstart their dreams of racing.
Among the drivers returning for the 2022 Skip Barber Formula Race Series include the dominant duo of last year’s champion Johnny Guindi and runner-up Jeshua Alianell. Fresh off a successful weekend in Spec Miata at New Jersey Motorsports Park, William and Dean Lambros are set to carry their moment into Northwest Connecticut for their return to open-wheel. Other return drivers include Bobby Krug, Chase Towse, Jimmy Dai, Robert Perlmutter, and more.
Newcomers to the Skip Barber Race Series include two scholarship winners from the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series. Denmark’s Mikkel Gade is set to make his debut after winning the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series Championship and earning a full-ride scholarship for the real-life Formula Race Series. Elvis Rankin, runner-up from the Formula iRacing Series and half-season scholarship winner, will also be competing at Lime Rock Park. Everett Dickson, Rocco Orlando, and more join the list of rookies in the series.
