FIA Creates International Masters’ Super Cup – KZ2

At its meeting on 19th March 2022 in Bahrain, the FIA World Motor Sport Council validated the creation of the FIA Karting International Masters’ Super Cup – KZ2 which will be held in Le Mans (FRA) from 1st to 4th September 2022 as part of the FIA Karting World Championship – KZ.

The FIA Karting wished to take into account the reality of the field as well as numerous requests made to create a category allowing older drivers to compete among themselves. The aim is to take into consideration the sporting and physical differences of the drivers usually found in the KZ2 category, which is accessible from the age of 15.

With the FIA Karting International Masters’ Super Cup – KZ2, drivers aged 35 and over during the year will be able to compete in their own major international FIA Karting KZ2 event in which the minimum weight with driver on board is increased to 180 kg instead of the 175 kg usual in KZ2. Aside from this point, the KZ2 regulations will be applied, particularly as regards the tyres which will be supplied by LeCont, SV Prime for slick and SV1 for rain.

The maximum number of drivers allowed to participate in the FIA Karting International Masters’ Super Cup – KZ2 at Le Mans from 1st to 4th September is 36. The opening date for registration on the fiakarting.com website will be announced shortly.
