OTK Branded Karts Dominate ROK Vegas
Descending on Las Vegas for the final ROK Cup USA event of the 2021 season, OTK branded drivers competing aboard Tony Kart, Redspeed, Kosmic and EOS chassis dominated the five-day event that took place on the temporary circuit adjacent to Planet Hollywood. With podiums in almost every class including numerous OMP Pole Position awards, OTK drivers were constantly seen at the front of the field and the top of the results sheets.
The results kicked off in qualifying as OTK drivers scored 50% of the available OMP Pole Position Awards. Ayden Ingratta was the pace setter in VLR Junior while Ethan Lennon earned the pole position in Mini ROK. Jack Jeffers claimed top honors in ROK Senior as Derek Wang garnered the pole position in ROK Master and Chase Hand topped the charts in ROK Junior.
The winning started on Championship Sunday in the VLR Junior class as OTK karts swept the top-eight positions on the results sheets. Leading the way when the dust had settled was Nash Motorsportz driver Jesus Vasquez who was awarded the win after a post-race penalty knocked Speed Concepts Racing (SCR) driver Ayden Ingratta from first to third. Ryan Perry Motorsports driver Parker Delong was also a benefactor of the Ingratta penalty to finish second as Rolison Performance Group’s (RPG) Chase Hand and Speedsense Motorsports’ Stephen Eisert rounded out the top-five.
In the VLR Senior class it was another victory for OTK as the popular brand took four of the top-five positions. Nash Motorsportz’s Blake Nash led the way to earn the ROK Vegas Championship over Alex Keyes Racing’s (AKR) Jacob Hoover. AKR put two drivers in the top-five as Kyriakos Sioukas finished fourth just ahead of Mike Manning Karting’s (MMK) Colby Dubato.
Mini ROK provided an additional two podiums for the OTK brand as Orsolon Racing’s Luis Umana and Iron Rock Raceway’s Oscar Iliffe finished second and third respectively. Battling hard until the finish, Iliffe climbed twenty positions in the main event to be the biggest mover of the race and was awarded with a well deserving podium result.
In the ROK Shifter Master class, Mike Beeny put his RPG entry in the fourth position at the end of the main event, narrowly missing the final step of the podium. The next track on class on track saw four OTK drivers in the top-four led by RPG’s Nathaniel Cicero who scored the victory over Speed Concepts Racing’s Jack Jeffers. Jeffers led most of the main event until Cicero was able to sneak by in the final corner to take the win. Perennial front-runner and multi-time champion Ryan Norberg put his RPG entry on the podium in the third position as Ryan Perry Motorsports driver Cole Morgan finished fourth after winning a heat race on Friday afternoon.
Similar to ROK Senior, ROK Masters OTK drivers swept the top-four positions led by Speed Concepts Racing Scott Roberts who saved his best drive of the weekend for the main event. Orsolon Racing’s Renato Jader was six tenths in arrears of Roberts but finished just ahead of Full Throttle Karting’s Derek Wang and RPG’s Billy Cleavelin in fourth.
Another podium for OTK came from the ROK Micro class as Cason Hodge put his Speedsense Motorsports entry in the third position as he battled close for the win. However, the big haul for the OTK brand came from the ROK Junior class as they swept the top-thirteen positions led by SCR’s Ayden Ingratta, RPG’s Chase Hand and Caleb Gafrarar as the trio stood on the podium. Ryan Perry Motorsports driver Logan Toke scored the fourth position ahead of JC Karting’s Sebastian Wheldon, Team Felon’s Jeremy Fletcher, Orsolon Racing’s Donovan Bonilla, Supertune USA’s Jorge Ortiz, Speed Concepts Racing G3 Argyros, and CDR’s Steven Miller.
VLR Masters provided another podium sweep for OTK led by Team Crosslink’s Martin Stone. Driving forward and taking control of the main event, Stone drove uncontested to the win ahead of Nash Motorsportz’s Matt Johnson and VMI’s Mike Smith.
