WKA, Terry Odom Promotions Along with the Daytona Flat Track and Paradise Raceway Partner to Create the Dirt Triple Crown Championship
The World Karting Association (WKA) along with Terry Odom of Terry Odom Promotions and longtime Dirt enthusiast and Owner of Paradise Raceway Henry Moree have created an amazing three event championship for the Dirt Karting industry. Kicking off with the first event during Thanksgiving at the Rumble in November and continuing to the largest event in Florida during the WKA Daytona Kartweek, the new ‘Triple Crown Championship’ will conclude with the largest dirt karting event in January at Paradise Raceway making it New Years in Paradise.
“WKA is extremely excited to work with Terry and Henry and to have Daytona host one of the Triple Crown events,” explained WKA Chairman of the Board Mike Tetreault. “Together we have a lot of great things planned for the inaugural championship as we look to make it one of the marquee Dirt Karting championships for years to come.”
“Promoting events is nothing new to me; I have put on some of the largest events in Dirt with The Chili Bowl, 4th of July Bash and the Eddie Mishue Memorial to name a few,” added Terry Odom. “When the three of us sat down to discuss some ideas on how to inject more excitement and prestige into our sport, we decided on the Triple Crown name tying in the two largest dirt karting races in November and December, and the largest race in January to finish out the championship and start the new year.”
Henry Moree continued, “My passion for the sport, especially Dirt Karting and its prestige, is to always give back to the racers. I have always done this with my track, Paradise Raceway, a one of kind state of the art track designed for the competitor. When Terry and Mike approached me with this idea on creating such a prestigious championship, I knew this not only needed to be big, but it had to be biggest event ever, paying over $220,000 in payouts to start off. We will also award national numbers based on championship results at all WKA and Terry Odom promoted events. I am glad that Paradise Raceway can be part of such a great Triple Crown Championship. Just wait and see over the next few weeks to see what a Triple Crown Champion will mean.”
