IAME USA Grand National Championship Presented by Hunt Brothers Pizza Opens Registration

A new event for the North American continent is the IAME USA Grand National Championship set for July 29-August 1 at the GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina. The event is a one-off race weekend, providing a unique race structure over the course of four days, testing the competitors in the seven IAME divisions. One of the latest news items from the event is signing Hunt Brothers Pizza on as the presenting sponsor.

Within the event will be two ‘shootout events’ for X30 Senior and KA100 Senior categories. The CNC Performance Engineering KA Shootout is scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 30, with a distinctive format under the lights and $2,000 to the winner. The MG Tires X30 Shootout set for the evening of Saturday, July 31 has details coming soon.

The tentative schedule for the IAME USA Grand National Championship presented by Hunt Brothers Pizza begins Thursday, July 29 with practice held from 1pm to 10pm EDT on multiple configurations. Friday begins at Noon with warm-up, qualifying and Heat One action before the CNC Performance Engineering KA Shootout takes place under the lights. Saturday also begins at noon, including a warm-up before Heat Two and Heat Three racing takes place. The MG Tires X30 Shootout will follow that evening. A quick turn-around to Sunday, August 1 with a 9am warm-up before the Prefinal, Last Chance Qualifiers and Finals take place.

The minimum prize package has been set for the seven divisions with more prizes possibly added prior to the event. Those drivers able to stand on top of the podium at the end of the event in X30 Senior Pro, X30 Junior Pro, X30 Masters and Mini Swift win a ticket to the IAME International Final for either the 2021 or 2022 event. Those winners and the drivers to score victory in KA100 Senior, KA100 Junior and Micro Swift each win a brand new IAME engine in their respective class. The top-three in each category earn a set of MG Tires, with the top-five in all divisions awarded an IAME USA Grand National Championship trophy.

A cash purse was established for both X30 Senior Pro and X30 Junior Pro. X30 Senior Pro awards the winner a $5,000 payday, with $2,500 to second and $1,250 for third. Fourth earns $1,000 with $750 to fifth. A $3,000 check awaits the winner in the X30 Junior Pro class, with $1,500 to second and $1,000 for third. $750 goes to fourth with fifth place taking home $500. Second and third in the X30 Masters, KA100 Senior, KA100 Junior, Mini Swift and Micro Swift take home a $300 cash card and $100 cash card respectively. All top qualifiers in the seven classes earn a $100 cash card as well.

Entry fee for the X30 Senior Pro and X30 Junior Pro divisions is $1,175 with the other five categories at $1,075 – including four days on track, driver pit pass, two sets of MG race tires, five gallons of fuel and 1 bottle of oil.
