Already confirming intentions to test a Ligier JSF4 with Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) throughout the 2021 season, Evagoras Papasavvas will join Trinity Karting and Tony Kart for his karting efforts. Making the move to the local race team, Papasavvas will compete at next week’s United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) at New Castle Motorsports Park.
“We are excited to return to Trinity Karting and get Evagoras back behind the wheel of a kart on a regular basis,” explained his father, Nektarios. “A huge thank you to Parolin USA for all of their help, support, coaching and hard work in our brief time with them, but our geographical location does not allow for the seat time that Evagoras needs to continue his development and upward trajectory.”
“We have been happy to have Evagoras in our Mini program and then transition to our Junior program,” explained Parolin USA’s Teddy Truchot. “Evagoras has always been dedicated and focused to bring his chassis to the front. A real fighter. All the Parolin USA team and I wish him good luck to his new endeavors.”
“I raced with Trinity in the past, so it is not a new team that I am going to,” added Evagoras. “I am looking forward to be back on track with Shawn and his whole crew and am just excited to get started.”
Competing this past weekend at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati at the ProAm Karting Championship, Papasavvas had his first event with the Trinity Karting Group. Competing in the KA100 Junior class, Papasavvas was on a mission taking the race win in his first start since rejoining the team.
With a location close to home, Evagoras will be in the seat more often continuing to improve with each passing lap. Looking to ensure race craft is at the highest level possible, Evagoras will compete in the remainder of the ProAm Karting Championship events as well as focus on the rest of the USPKS program.
“We at Team TKG and Motorsports Country Club are very excited to see the progression up the racing ladder, and we feel the success of our drivers that make that move is a testament to how we develop them,” added Shawn Bayliff. “Evagoras has always showed special talent, and we are looking forward to his success on that climb. We are especially excited to have him rejoining Trinity Karting Group for select national events and the entire ProAm Karting Championship here at MCC. Karting keeps you sharp and I recommend any drivers that move on to keep a kart and race. Evagoras and his family has made a really smart decision to do that, and we plan on building his winning resume and that already started with his win in the ProAm and plan on more with a strong team at New Castle USPKS up next.”
