It was the second event weekend of the 2020 United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) as Ryan Shehan and his Team Crosslink program traveled north from their Texas base to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin and the CTECH Manufacturing Motorplex. Located on the grounds of the famed Road America in the Kettle Moraine region, the Stilo USA / Lucky Design supported driver garnered a pair of top-ten results in the X30 Pro division.

“Finishing ninth and tenth may not seem like the best results, but I am a rookie in the senior ranks and feel that I have come a long way from my incident back in January,” explained Shehan. “Our pace all weekend was comparable to the leaders, but we just lacked track position after qualifying and it was very hard to make that up at this level of competition.”

Qualifying tenth on Saturday and finishing eleventh in the prefinal, Shehan advanced forward two positions in the main event to cross the line in P9. With similar results on Sunday, the Texan secured a tenth-place finish and combine those results with his finishing positions from round one and two, the Team Crosslink driver sits ninth in the championship standings with one event weekend remaining.

Shehan added, “Our goal for the rest of the year is to qualify better and take advantage of the new tires early. Starting further up the grid and having the necessary track position will yield a better chance at a podium result. With the field as talented and close as it is at national events like this one, every tenth of a second counts.”
