WKA Announces Charlotte Motor Speedway Summer Club Series for 2021
With two national events at the freshly repaved Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) kart track, the World Karting Association (WKA) has been working diligently behind the scenes to bring club level racing back to ‘America’s Home for Racing’. Coming to an agreement with Speedway staff and securing dates, the WKA Summer Club Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway is born.
“This is a great time for our sport and a great way to give kart racers in the Carolinas different opportunities,” explained WKA President Kevin Williams. “Working with the Speedway staff at our events on site, these individuals live and breathe motorsports and wanted to make this happen. Great for the sport all around, we are looking forward to the first green flag in May of 2021.”
WKA Chairman of the Board Mike Tetreault added, “When the idea was presented to the Speedway, they immediately jumped on board. A great location, a great track layout, new surface and big plans for the entire facility made it that much more important that we provide a choice for karters and the choice is now in Charlotte.”
With class structure, rules, prize packages, track layouts and more set to be announced in the near future, the World Karting Association has confirmed four dates for the much anticipated WKA Charlotte Motor Speedway WKA Summer Club Series. Be sure to save the dates!
