It was another podium winning performance for Team Crosslink during the final event of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Winter Series this past weekend. Taking place at the AMR Motorplex, Miguel Mier added his third and fourth podium results of the program as he claimed the SKUSA Winter Series X30 Masters Vice Championship.

“As I mentioned after the first event weekend, coming to Florida and competing against the level of talent that the SKUSA program brings is a challenge,” explained Team Manager Sean Owens. “I am confident that though the results may not be the best, competing here will make our drivers better in the long run as it provided some much-needed experience and track time as we head into the remainder of 2020. A huge congratulations to Miguel on his four podiums in four races.”

Capping off rounds one and two with second and third-place finishes, Mier returned for rounds three and four scoring the same results. Having to overcome a qualifying deficit that saw him back in the fifth position on both Saturday and Sunday, the veteran driver managed to move forward in both prefinals to set himself up for podium finishes during both main events.

In the talent filled X30 Senior class, a pair of drivers would throw their hat in the mix led by Brendan Baker. Showing signs of speed throughout the weekend, including the Hard Charger of Sunday’s prefinal that saw him drive from 31st to 14th, Baker was able to secure a pair of top-20 results to close out his Winter Series. Reilly Cann had similar results as Saturday’s 31st place qualifying performance set him up for a 13-position gain in the prefinal. Sunday saw improvement from the prefinal to the main event where the young driver was able to march forward eight positions to build momentum for his next on-track event.

Team Crosslink Mini Swift driver Jake Giordano made his SKUSA Winter Series debut against a stacked field of competitors from across the country. Looking to get on track before the start of his summer season, Giordano had to learn the tricky AMR Motorplex facility all while battling some of the country’s best.

Owens added, “Our first event of February is complete. We now head five hours north to Ocala Gran Prix and the second round of the Florida Winter Tour.”

Competing in the ROK Junior class will be Chase Gardner and Alex Stanfield while Ethan Ho sets his sights on the top step of the podium in ROK Senior. Stanfield will pull double duty on the weekend competing in the 100cc Junior class as he will compete alongside Ethan’s younger brother Myles. Team Crosslink will compete in several local, regional and national level programs. With arrive and drive programs, product sales and services, driver coaching and data analysis, Team Crosslink will also turn over one or two race chassis following events.
