AKRA/Dart Kart Club Mid-Ohio Only Two Weeks Away
Last year’s American Kart Racing Association/Dart Kart Club/VEGA Tires Mid-Ohio national race was one for the record book with over 454 entries made it second only to Daytona. If pre-entries are any indication, this year’s race entries almost assure a repeat with another large turnout June 14-17.
Mid-Ohio is home to many auto races including the Indy Racing -Series and Honda Indy 200 in mid July and motorcycle competition. Mid-Oho began as a 2.4 mile 15-turn road course. In 1990 the track under went a major overhaul that included a new retaining wall was installed that allowed some top level series drivers to reach 180-miles per hour on the course’s long back stretch.
Karts won’t be competing quite that fast, but they will provide some exciting racing.
