Formed in 2018, Crosslink Competition has quickly earned its reputation as a top-notch race-winning organization in American karting. The team has already made a strong impression in the SKUSA Winter Series, Florida Winter Tour, Texas ProKart Challenge and, most recently, at the RTX Karting All Star Finals 2019 Rotax event in Houston. Crosslink also scored wins and podiums at the opening round of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour at the CalSpeed in March, as Joshua Car (X30 Senior) and Derek Wang (X30 Master) were victorious at the WinterNationals. Car and Wang lead their respective championships heading to the upcoming SKUSA SpringNationals in Utah on May 3-5, and Car will have an additional teammate for the event as the squad has strengthened its line-up with the signing of multi-time Pro Tour winner Braden Eves. The Ohio veteran is currently the point leader in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship on the Road to Indy, but he is excited to continue karting with the team for what will currently be the remainder of the SKUSA Pro Tour and the SuperNationals in November.
“We are very excited to have Braden come onboard with us,” offered Sean Owens, Crosslink Competition. “I believe his experience at all levels of motorsport will make him incredibly valuable to all aspects of our program. We expect to keep our momentum flowing from the previous rounds of the championship where our driver Joshua Car scored the Saturday win to take hold of the point lead.”
Eves comes to the team with a strong resume in national level competition, including three SKUSA Pro Tour wins during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and a pair of WKA Manufacturers Cup titles. Braden won in the X30 Senior class at the SKUSA SpringNationals in Phoenix in 2016, and then won at both the SpringNationals and SummerNationals in 2017 at Sonoma and New Castle Motorsports. He finished fourth overall in the championship battle that season.
“I always love getting back into the kart when I get the opportunity and I’m super excited to join forces with Crosslink Competition for the rest of the SKUSA Pro Tour,” Eves enthused. “It’s been a while since I’ve been on the OTK chassis, but the OTK/Allison Racing Engines package is certainly not new to me, and when we pair that with the professionalism and results that Crosslink has put up this season, it will definitely be a winning package. Also, I can’t wait to get back to Utah Motorsport Campus. I last raced there in 2014 for the US Rotax Grand Nationals and absolutely loved the track. Huge thanks to Crosslink Competition and Sean Owens for this opportunity. I can’t wait!”
The team will begin making the trek to Salt Lake City on Sunday, and will then set up at the Utah Motorsports Campus for the third and fourth rounds of the SKUSA Pro Tour. Be sure to follow Crosslink Competition on Facebook to stay up-to-date with our performances.
