Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2018: Team USA – Monday Report
First laps around International Circuit Paladino in Brazil for 10 drivers
Today, drivers hit the International Circuit Paladino to officially kick off the 2018 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. A total of 360 drivers representing 55 countries from around the globe have converged on Brazil to decide this year’s Rotax world champions. Sunday provided the drivers the opportunity to receive their chassis and engines, setting up the pit area and preparing for the first on-track sessions on Monday to begin the ‘Olympics of Karting’. The weather has already mixed things up, with sunny skies early before quick rain showers made for some interesting sessions and decisions on what tires to use for those categories on track. Some drivers even electing not to run to save their practice tires. Of the 10 Team USA drivers, a good majority of them were within the top-15 in their groups, setting up for what should be a great week in Brazil.
