ROK Sonoma Begins the Summer with Race #4 on June 9-10

ROK Sonoma presented by Sanzaru starts Race #4, with most of the kids out of school and everyone taking in the fantastic weather at Simraceway Performance Karting Center. The tough Sprint track configuration will test all drivers fitness and focus at this race. The Senior ROK class will be the Molecule “Feature Class” this weekend with a the winner taking $100 “Sanzaru Bucks” and a bonus of $100 “Sanzaru Bucks” for the sweep of the Pre-Mains races and Main!

Senior ROK comes with strong competition as many of the drivers moved up from last year’s Junior Rotax. Right now, the pursuit for the top step on the podium is between Bijoy Garg and Michael Avansino. These two drivers have been thrilling to watch as they consistently swapped positions 1 and 2 throughout the first three races of the season. The exciting performance of Ryan Tate, Christopher Martin and Clayton Williams has them dueling for the podium as well. However, Martin and Williams missed the last race, no doubt due to the Mother’s Day weekend, causing them to drop lower in the points, which brought Dakota White and Thomas Parmentier into contention. But we can’t leave out Dominic Divita who still has a chance to move up in points, as they increase with every race. The current points standings could change everyone’s future, as rankings hinge on potential finishes. Jovy Levin will increase the head count this race joining the class from Juniors.

Kid Karts will be running this race again and continue for the remainder of the season. These young races are the future of the sport and we are excited to support them.

The race weekend will start with practice on Saturday. At the last race we combined classes for practice which worked well. We will be utilizing this schedule again for Race #4 with 15-minute sessions for Mini/Micro, Junior/Senior/Masters, Kid Karts and then all Shifters. Practice starts at 8:00 am and runs until 5:00 pm giving everyone nine chances to practice. Registration opens at 6:45 am at the Admin building down below. Practice is open to all drivers who are up to normal racing speeds with a kart that meets current karting safety specifications. Cost is $60 for Practice only and $30 for Kid Karts.

Sunday’s race day begins at 8:00 am with a quick round of practice for the six race groups followed by a five timed lap Qualifying session, two Pre-Mains and the Main, please see the schedule for the number of laps for your class. Registration opens at 6:45 am. Race Entry is $110 for the first class, $75 for the second. Kid Karts are $50. $15 for transponder rental if needed, $10 for all crew and spectators, and kids under 12 are $5.
