Sunshine State Karting Challenge Sets 2018 Championship Prize Structure

Hot off the heels of our announcement regarding our official class structure for the inaugural Sunshine State Karting Challenge season, we are proud to finalize the accompanying prize structure for all categories. Thanks to IAME USA East, Briggs & Stratton, USAC Battle at the Brickyard, and MG Tires USA, an unprecedented initial prize purse has been put together to kick off the season.

Additional prizes will also be announced shortly courtesy of the Mazda Road to Indy, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Briggs & Stratton, and others among what is already a star-studded prize list.

For TaG Junior and TaG Mini, if the class champion competes on an IAME engine, he/she will receive the largest individual prize package announced so far, which is a ticket to the IAME International Final courtesy of IAME USA East.

IAME International Final Tickets for IAME Drivers in TaG Mini and TaG Junior

Florida currently has a huge contingent of front-runners on the national circuit in Mini and Junior categories, and in the Sunshine State Karting Challenge, the class champions will be awarded a ticket to the 2018 IAME International Final in Le Mans, France. In order to win the ticket, the class champion must compete on an IAME engine for the 2018 SSKC Season. The ticket to the IAME International Final includes a guaranteed entry spot and race tires package, along with 3,000 Euros towards an Arrive-and-Drive team fee.

Class champions in TaG Micro, TaG Master, Shifter Junior, Shifter Senior, and Shifter Master will receive a fully funded entry into the 2019 Sunshine State Karting Challenge.

SSKC Champions Scholarship

In all TaG Micro, TaG Master, Shifter Junior, Shifter Senior, and Shifter Master, the class champion will receive a fully-funded entry into the 2019 SSKC season. One of our goals at SSKC is to help offer drivers both a step-up from club-level competition and a transitional stage prior to entering the national series. With this scholarship program, we hope to both ease the expenses on winning racers as well as allow them to re-allocate their budget for advancing up to top-tier series, such as the United States Pro Kart Series, World Karting Association Manufacturer’s Cup, the SuperKarts! USA Winter Series, and/or the SuperKarts! USA Pro Tour.

Champions in TaG Senior, LO206 Senior, and LO206 Heavy will each receive an entry and tire package towards the 2019 USAC Karting Battle at the Brickyard event, along with a $500 certificate to KartSport North America.

Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

SSKC is proud to have support from USAC Karting and their flagship Battle at the Brickyard event. The special event brings karts to the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, utilizing a portion of its legendary road course that has seen Formula 1, IMSA, and IndyCar all host races on. IMS truly needs no introduction, and SSKC and USAC Kartging are offering racers in TaG Senior, LO206 Senior, and LO206 Heavy a fully-funded entry package along with a tire package AND a $500 gift certificate towards KartSport North America goods to help prepare for the event.

As mentioned above, these prizes are the first of many to be announced for the coming season. Additional sponsors, such as the Mazda Road to Indy, Briggs & Stratton, and Homestead-Miami Speedway, will all be announcing further prizes very soon.
