Rok Winter Cup Next Up for Speed Concepts Racing

SCR will enter five drivers in Palm Beach race this weekend

Only a short drive from their Orlando, Florida based home, Speed Concepts Racing will head south to the first annual Vortex ROK Winter Cup, taking place at the Palm Beach Karting facility in Jupiter, Florida. As the official tune-up event for the 2018 ROK Cup Promotions Florida Winter Tour, and with more than $25,000 in cash and prizes on the line, SCR will enter five drivers throughout the Mini ROK and Junior ROK categories as they begin their push towards 2018 success.

“2017 was great, but we are looking to make 2018 event better,” explained Mike Speed, Owner of Speed Concepts Racing. “We will have a major focus on several high-profile series in the upcoming season and have already begun testing. The ROK Winter Cup is a great way to get back on track, at a Florida Winter Tour track, and with some competition that we will see throughout the months of January to March.”

Jeremy Fairbairn and Kyffin Simpson will battle in the ROK Junior category on the Palm Beach Karting circuit. Both drivers come into the event fresh from running at the SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals 21 in Las Vegas. Fairbairn put on a great performance at the Vegas event, earning a third place podium finish in the highly-competitive X30 Junior class. Simpson competed in the Mini Swift category for his final time at SuperNats, making the jump to Junior for the first time at the ROK Winter Cup and will look to impress in his rookie event.

SCR will have three drivers throw their hats into the mix in Mini ROK: Alex Powell, Paul Bocuse, and Noah Baker. Powell and Bocuse head into Palm Beach with their SuperNats runs fresh under their belts, carrying their momentum with them into their final race of 2017. After a successful yet learning year in 2017, all three drivers are expected to contest for race wins, podiums and championships in 2018.

Speed continued, “Our Mini ROK and Mini Swift drivers have gained huge experience in the past twelve months and will be a threat in the upcoming season, and Noah Baker will be a great addition to have beside Paul and Alex.”
