AKRA Barnesville Pre-registration Open Through Monday
This is the last full week to pre-enter for the second round of the AKRA / Vega USA American Sprint Cup Series “Southern Tour” presented by TSRacing.com, set to take place next weekend – April 29-May 1 – at the historic Lamar County Speedway in Barnesville, GA.
Teams can pre-enter at the great price of $80 per class and $55 for Friday practice through Monday, April 25. Online registration is offered at akrasprint.com/shop or you can mail the PDF entry form to AKRA c/o Keith Shampine at 5555 Concord Parkway South; Concord, NC 28027. Price is the same for online and mail-in entry.
Teams need to contact Georgia Sprint Karting Association’s Bob Barthelemy to reserve parking. There are a limited amount of spots available on the concrete near the grid for $75 per 12×40′ space. Grass parking is $50 per 12×40′ spot and free parking will be available further away from the grid.

AKRA Posts Pole Awards for Barnesville Sunday Qualifying
Sunday morning’s qualifying round at the second round of the AKRA / Vega USA American Sprint Cup Series will carry some extra importance at Lamar County Speedway next weekend as AKRA has posted cash pole awards for eight classes.
Based off entries at the season opener last month at Carolina Motorsports Park, AKRA will award pole winners in three classes a $100 bonus while five other classes will race for $50 bonuses to win the pole.

Owner Bill McCutcheon formed AKRA in September 2005 to create and establish an organization to manage, promote and develop a healthy environment that effectively and proactively supports the karting industry.
Since its formation, AKRA has focused primarily on 4-cycle rules and Speedway oval kart racing.
