Colorado Karting Tour Preparing for Inaugural Season

The Colorado Karting Tour (CKT), presented by the Colorado Junior Karting Club (CJKC), is pleased to announce their 2016 season as a part of the US Rotax Max Challenge (USRMC) race series and International Karting Federation (IKF) Region 4a. During the season, racers can earn national punches and national points, which are accumulated over the course of the year.

The schedule for upcoming races is as follows:

April 10 – Run Your Rust Off (non points) – IMI Motorsports
#1 April 24 – Action Karting
#2 May 22 – SBR Motorsports
#3 June 5 – IMI Motorsports
#4 June 19 – SBR Motorsports
#5 July 3 – IMI Motorsports
#6 Aug. 7 – Pikes Peak Intl. Raceway
#7 Aug. 20 – Action Karting (night race)
#8 Sept. 11 – IMI Motorsports

The IKF will once again be the series-sanctioning body covering all classes run on race day. The CJKC is the IKF Region 4A series. Additionally, all Briggs classes will run for IKF regional point’s championships as well as Kid Kart Honda and Adult 206. And all Briggs classes will run under IKF rules (check our local option rules).

“We are honored to continue the tradition of great karting under the IKF region 4a in Colorado,” said Scott Williams, President, Colorado Junior Karting Club. “Additionally, the CJKC is thrilled to be incorporating the US Rotax Max Challenge for our 2016 season, which allows us to include racers of all ages. As a part of this new experience, we’ve decided to create the Colorado Karting Tour brand for 2016 to reflect the new offerings. We look forward to a successful season for all participants.”

For local results, all eight races (with lowest dropped) will be considered for series championship, with top six results overall being considered for national rankings. Weekly trophies and medals will be awarded for all classes. End of year banquet will be held mid-October, including champion jackets and trophies for all classes.
