JHM Announces 2016 Schedule

Jim Howe Motorsports LLC of Columbus (IN) has announced its 2016 schedule for new driver Jordan Fresher and his Edwards-Rigdon Construction / JHM #62 Birel.

Fresher (Avon, IN) and the team will run the full Southern Indiana Racing Association (SIRA) Indiana street circuit this season in the Junior (1) Sportsman class. The 12-year-old will be in the running for SIRA Junior Rookie of the Year. The SIRA schedule includes the famed Goodland (IN) Grand Prix, the annual Mayor’s Cup in Anderson (IN), the Mel Kenyon Classic in Lebanon (IN), the Alexandria (IN) Grand Prix, the CERAland Grand Prix in Columbus (IN), and the Mooresville (IN) Grand Prix, among other events.

The team will also compete in the Tony Stewart Racing Series at the historic Whiteland (IN) Raceway Park with an appearance tentatively scheduled with the Ohio Valley Karting Association (OVKA) at one of their G&J Raceways (Camden, OH) events. Test sessions at WRP and CERAland Park are also scheduled in March.

“We’ve tried to put together a very balanced schedule for Jordan for 2016,” Team General Manager Jim Howe said, “that will expose him to a variety of circuits and tough competition at the same time. We’re doing our best to give him a real challenge that will bring out his talent.”

Fresher is the son of Tom Fresher of Avon (IN) and Mary Fresher of Plainfield, IN. He is in his second season of karting, his first full season and first with JHM. The youth is a seventh grade student at Avon Middle School North with Orchestra and Math as his favorite subjects. In his spare time, he likes to ride his bike, play video games on his PlayStation 3, wrestle, and take vacations – mostly to races – with his dad. Favorite foods include quesadillas, pizza, hot dogs, chili, pancakes, waffles, and eggs.

The JHM team runs Birel chassis with engines from Brian Seward and his BBS Race Development Engine shop in Middletown (IN). Primary sponsor for 2016 is the Edwards-Rigdon Construction Company of Danville (IN).

Jim Howe Motorsports LLC was founded in 2000 with Christina Howe piloting the familiar #62 kart. Several others have driven for the team since with victories and championships.  The team’s mission is to bring kids with little or no experience into motorsports and prepare them for advancement in the sport. Jim Howe, 57, is a 45-year veteran of racing.
