EKN Constructors Championship – 2015 Final Standings
Tony Kart extends run as top brand in North America
The 2015 karting season in North America has concluded, and everyone’s focus has not turned toward the upcoming year. This past season saw a number of top events throughout the country, with 43 of them counting toward the EKN Constructors Championship. Since the beginning of 2015, Tony Kart assumed the lead and continued to increase its advantage with each event thanks to its large contingent of racers from coast to coast.
Tony Kart led the way throughout the season, raking in 30% of the points earned on the season to be declared the unquestionable champion and earning fifth straight title. Tony Kart had the best score from the Winter programs, and the Regional divisions that included California ProKart Challenge, Texas ProKart Challenge and the Can-Am Karting Challenge. Tony Kart was also the highest score in SKUSA and US Open competition. Of the 43 events, Tony Kart was the highest score in 27 thanks to teams like Ocala Gran Prix, Nash Motorsportz, Ryan Perry Motorsport, Koene USA and many others.
The fight all season was the for the second spot. Top Kart and Merlin went into the end of the season in a heated battle, with Top Kart holding on by just 18 points. Neither scored much in the final six events but they remained in second and third. Top Kart was the highest score in WKA competition for 2015, placing third in USPKS competition. Merlin was the top scorer in USPKS and was second in WKA. Franklin Motorsports continues to develop the Merlin brand for the North America market, earning a number of championships in 2015 with Brandon Lemke in the Junior ranks, along with victories and podiums in Cadet and Senior action, including shifterkart action with Kyle Kalish.
CRG continues to be among the top-five brands in North America, placing fourth in 2015. CRG recorded the second best score in the Winter programs and third overall in SKUSA competition. The brand enters a new era with the new CRG Nordam operation established for the future here in North America. The new BirelART had an amazing inaugural season, placing fifth in the EKN CC standings. Third in the Winter programs and second in US Open competition with PSL Karting helped to put the new brand in the top-five.
Kosmic was among those that were successful at the regional programs. Kosmic racked up the second best in the regional section of the EKN CC standings, along with the third in US Open thanks to the continuing success of the Rolison Performance Group operation based out of Oregon. Praga has continue to grow throughout North America, finishing as the top chassis in the EKN Stock Moto Driver Rankings. The brand finished as the second best in SKUSA competition, helping to put them seventh overall.
Benik is the newest model and one of the most successful in the Cadet divisions, which were added to the EKN CC for 2015. Benik racked up the eighth highest total based on just the results of its Cadet program, better than 36 other brands that scored on the season. FA Kart gave OTK its third brand inside the top-10 while Sodi Kart earned the 10th highest total on the season with the Dallas Karting Complex operation earning points across a wide variety of events in 2015.

EKN Constructors Championship Guidelines
The EKN Constructors Championship calculation process includes the top-five finishers in each recognized class (Senior-Master-Junior-Cadet classes). The SKUSA SuperNationals and US Rotax Grand Nationals will earn points with the following structure; 1st=20 points, 2nd=16 points, 3rd=12 points, 4th=8 points, 5th=4 points. The SKUSA Pro Tour and US Open will earn points with the following structure; 1st=10 points, 2nd=8 points, 3rd=6 points, 4th=4 points, 5th=2 points. The remaining events will continue to be awarded with the previous ranking system; with first place earning five (5) points down to fifth place earning one (1) point for each category. There is a minimum of 10 starting entries for the class points to be counted toward the season total in the EKN CC standings.
