Picture Perfect Weekend for 2015 Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour Rok Cup Finale at Ocala Gran Prix
Champions crowned and awards given away to conclude series
It was another picture perfect weekend for ROKKERS in the 2015 Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour Powered by MAXSpeed Entertainment ROK Cup USA finale weekend, presented by MG Tires. With the event taking place at the picturesque Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida, seven class champions were crowned and tickets awarded to the ROK Cup International Final later this year in South Garda, Italy.
“The racing this past weekend was second to none,” explained MAXSpeed Entertainment’s Garett Potter. “The facility in Ocala, though albeit tight and short, provides for some great wheel-to-wheel competition. With the extra points available in the championship style event, championship battles came down to the very last on track session in most classes. It was great to watch and we can’t thank the teams and drivers enough for their hard work, competitive spirit and sportsmanship throughout the series.”
Taking home main event victories on the weekend were Diego Contecha Porras (AM Engines Micro ROK), Matthew Latifi (Mini ROK), Mathias Ramirez (Junior ROK), Kyle Kirkwood (CKT Racing Engines Senior ROK), Eduardo Dieter (Masters ROK), Oliver Askew (Shifter ROK) and Richard Heistand (Shifter ROK Masters).
Class champions receiving tickets to the Vortex ROK International Final in South Garda, Italy later this season are Jonny Edgar (Mini ROK), Mathias Ramirez (Junior ROK), Kyle Kirkwood (CKT Racing Engines Senior ROK), Eduardo Dieter (Masters ROK), AJ Myers (Shifter ROK) and Richard Heistand (Shifter ROK Masters). These drivers will receive entry to the ROK International Final, as well as a new chassis, ROK engine, kart stand, fuel and race tires for the international event. Diego Contecha Porras took home the Micro ROK class championship, completing all seven categories.
Also up for grabs during the ROK Cup USA portion of the Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour was an all expense paid trip for a competitor to compete at the famous Granja 500 courtesy of MG Tires and WR Motorsports. Awarded during Sunday afternoon’s podium presentations, Eduardo Espindola was the lucky and deserving winner and will receive airfare, hotel and race expenses equal to $8000.00.
