CRG-USA Continues Success as Summer Closes
Championships in Rocky Mountain and podium finishes at California ProKart Challenge for CRG USA drivers
The CRG-USA operation continued its support of CRG drivers through August and into September, still achieving top results with every event. The growing race team closed out the 2014 Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge with three championships in the Stock Moto categories to end the month of August, and began September with podium results and top-five performances at the recent California ProKart Challenge event.
Over the August 29-31 weekend, the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge held its final two rounds of 2014 at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway in western Colorado. S1 Pro Stock Moto driver Sabré Cook wrapped up the series Championship, while Lindsey Brewer used her double win weekend to advance to the top of the standings, earning her first series championship, Rob Vanderen sat out the final round as he already had the S4 championship locked up with two rounds to go. All drivers were aboard their SwedeTech powered Stock Moto CRG packages.
The following weekend, the CRG-USA hauler traveled to Lake Elsinore, California for the first time, as the California ProKart Challenge held its first-ever event outside the Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium. The temporary circuit was a replica of the SKUSA SuperNationals XVIII layout, giving the CRG-USA drivers a great baseline for the upcoming November spectacular. Darren Elliott led the squad with a clean sweep of the S4 Master Stock Moto division. With support from CRG-USA and MRC, Elliott was at the front of the field in every on-track session for his fourth feature win of the series. Robert Marks posted his best result in his third start of the series this year. Marks was a solid fourth place finisher, while Juan Garcia and Victor Jimenez finished close behind in sixth and seventh to give CRG-USA four drivers within the top-10. Darrell Tunnell came up just short, placing 11th in his fourth start this year.
Two CRG-USA drivers landed on the podium in the competitive S1 Pro Stock Moto division. SwedeTech powered Sabré Cook and Jimmy McNeil ran in the top-five all day. In the second heat race, the duo moved into second and third, holding the positions through the 20-lap main event. Cook scored the runner-up result in her first series start of the year while McNeil, a winner at Round One, stood on the podium for a second time in four starts with a third place result. S2 driver Lindsay Brewer made her first series start, gaining some valuable experience for the upcoming SuperNationals, finishing ninth. SKUSA Pro Tour championship leader TaG Master driver Billy Cleavelin struggled early, but improved his pace throughout the day until contact in the main event took him out of contention. Expect Billy to be up front at the Streets of Lancaster and the SuperNationals, where he is a former winner of both events.
CRG-USA will return to California once again in just two weeks, in support of CRG drivers at the California ProKart Challenge finale, the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix on September 26-28. CRG-USA is primed with great opportunities for drivers to be part of the growing race team or businesses looking to promote the world-championship CRG brand as part of the dealer network. CRG-USA is an official race team for SwedeTech Racing Engines, AiM Sports, and Sniper. Anyone interested in joining the team should contact Stacey Cook at 855.TEAMCRG or via email email@example.com.
