Team News: Checkered Motorsports – RoboPong 200 Preview

Checkered Motorsports logoCheckered Motorsports will be returning to New Castle Raceway Park for the Robopong  200.   Their last visit at the 1 mile road course secured the team with a victory and earning yet again another TaG national title in the United States Pro Kart Series.  Joining forces with Adrenaline Fix Karting, the team will be featuring two teams to compete in the 200 lap endurance race and a pair of PCR’s in the sportsman category.

Returning from last year will be the Bujdoso brothers.  Multi-champion Robert Bujdoso and rising star Andrew Bujdoso are eager to display the black and yellow colors up front.  The duo  were contenders for the win last year until an additional pit stop forced the team to settle with a sixth place finish.  Florida natives Sasha Brun-Wibaux, and Ryan Norberg have teamed up to make their first Robopong 200 debut.  This marks their first debut in the senior category, but are no stranger to the PCR/Iame package as the two pilots have seen multiple trips to the podiums this year.

John Paul Southern Jr. and Ian Hornish will be competing in the Yamaha Sportsman category.  Southern Jr. came home with a second place finish last year and looks to add another win to his resume for the season.  Hornish Jr. has been dominate in the Allegheny Karting Series and hopes to keep the momentum rolling going into the weekend.  Southern Jr. will be performing double duty as the young 12 year will run his PCR Woltjer Powered Super Strillo chassis in Yamaha Jr. Can.  Southern Jr. is no stranger in the Yamaha Jr. Can package where his first Junior debut of the United States Pro Kart Series led him to come home with a pair of podium finishes.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to work alongside of Adrenaline Fix Karting yet again,” explained team owner Csaba Bujdoso.  “ I feel confident going into this year’s Robopong 200 race marking the teams fourth visit.  With two Robopong entries were thrilled to have a great group of drivers representing the PCR brand.  The combined knowledge and experience of this years team can ensure an reliable, fast package for the 200 mile event.”

Checkered Motorsports, the official importer of PCR karts, will be contesting in the WKA Manufacturers Cup Series, GearUp F-Series, United States Pro Kart Series, Allegheny Karting Series, and the SKUSA Supernationals.  Tech support, transportation, and arrive and drive opportunities are available.
