Manitoba Karting Association – Round 8 & 9 Report
Curtis Veselinovich – Mini Max
The weather was hot and sunny for the 2nd doubleheader Race 8 and 9 of the Manitoba Karting Association Championship at Gimli Motorsport Park. The sponsor for Saturday was Lake of the Woods Insurance and Sunday’s sponsor was Green Team Racing.
Highlights of Race # 8 & 9
On Saturday in the Junior 1 Briggs class Ethan Clace won and Ethan won again on Sunday with Chloe Schiewe 2nd.
Junior 2 Briggs had Victoria Stutsky starting P1 on Saturday. Most of the class ran in a tight pack swapping the lead lap after lap but on the last Jeff Fulham held the lead to win with Garrett Gulenchyn 2nd and Jaedin Wright 3rd. On Sunday Victoria had pole position and once again most of the class swapped the lead lap after lap but this time Jaedin Wright had the lead on the last lap and won with Jeff 2nd and Victoria 3rd.
Senior Briggs Saturday Travis McDonald was on pole and he held the lead throughout the race to a three kart photo-finish. Travis won with Michael Copp 2nd and Roland Fortier 3rd. On Sunday Travis was again on pole and he held the lead to a four kart photo-finish with Michael 2nd, Roland 3rd and Jeff Bachalo 4th.
Saturday Micro Max class had Brad Bachalo on pole and he won with Tiana Bovino 2nd and Mandy Veselinovich 3rd. On Sunday they finished in the same order with Brad winning again, Tiana 2nd and Mandy 3rd.
In Mini Max Saturday Brandon Berard was on pole and he lead flag to flag to take the win with Jill Berard 2nd and Curtis Veselinovich 3rd. Sunday Curtis was on pole and he lead flag to flag to take the win with Rylan Despins 2nd and Bianca Bovino 3rd.
Jaedin Wright – Junior 2 Briggs
On Saturday in Junior Rotax Stephen Bachalo was on pole and lead easily from start to finish. Behind Stephen there was in intense fight for P2 at the finish it was Stephen 1st, Garrett Gulenchyn 2nd and Victoria Stutsky 3rd.Sunday Stephen was on pole but this time he wound up swapping the lead with Jeff Fulham. At the finish Jeff won with Stephen 2nd and Victoria 3rd.
Saturday Senior Rotax class had Morgan McDonald on pole and he wound up swapping the lead with Colin Farebrother. At the chequered flag Morgan won with Colin 2nd and Jordan Brown 3rd. Sunday Colin was on pole and this time it was a three way battle for the lead. At the finish it was Colin 1st, Jordan 2nd and Morgan 3rd.
In the DD2 Rotax class Mark Sawatsky was on pole position Saturday and Sunday. On both days Mark lead flag to flag wins. Jordan Brown finish 2nd both days with Stan Siemens 3rd on Saturday and Brian Schiewe finishing 3rd on Sunday.
