Checkered Motorsports – USPKS New Castle Preview

Checkered Motorsports logoNew Castle Motorsports Park will be the scene of the final round of the United States Pro Kart Series, and Checkered Motorsports is looking to add more wins and podiums to an already impressive 2014 racing season, which included four wins and ten podiums at the third stop of the USPKS at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Three national championships are on the line for Checkered Motorsports. AJ Myers, Francois Brun-Wibaux and Ryan Norberg all have two races left to prove they are the best in their respective division.

Ryan Norberg currently sits second in the points in Leopard Junior, just over 200 points back. However, a win in Pittsburgh proved Norberg is lethal aboard his PCR Super Strillo. With two races to go, Norberg has all the tools needed to win the Leopard Junior championship. Racing alongside Ryan Norberg will be Nolan Ruocco. Ruocco finished on the podium with Norberg at both Michiana Raceway Park in Indiana and in Pittsburgh. Nolan will be another driver to watch in the Leopard Junior category. Sasha Brun-Wibaux also will be competing in Leopard Junior, after a disappointing round three in Pittsburgh, the Florida driver looks to rebound in New Castle. Making his USPKS Junior debut will be John Paul Southern Jr. Southern Jr. has had experience with the Rotax Junior package, but will make his Leopard debut in New Castle. John Paul is an extremely talented driver, and should not waste any time getting to the front aboard his new PCR Super Strillo chassis. Southern Jr. will also be doing double duty, competing in Yamaha Junior as well. Nick Luedeke looks to keep the momentum rolling in Yamaha Junior. Luedeke landed on the podium for both final events in Pittsburgh and expects nothing but the same in New Castle. Evan Fritts is another Yamaha Junior competitor aboard a Super Strillo chassis. Evan is fresh off his first USPKS podium at the third stop in Pittsburgh. Fritts aims for his second straight USPKS podium this weekend in New Castle.

AJ Myers will lead the Leopard Pro division to the green flag in New Castle this weekend. The Florida driver currently holds a 50-point lead in the points standings, and looks to close out the championship title in Indiana. Andrew Bujdoso will also be competing in Leopard Pro. Bujdoso has had speed all year, and finally secured his first podium result of the year in Pittsburgh. More hardware is Bujdoso’s goal in New Castle.

Francois Brun-Wibaux is in the driver’s seat in Parilla Challenge. Brun-Wibaux leads the points standings by a mere 15 points. The final two rounds will decide the Parilla challenge champion, and Brun-Wibaux has showed the consistency needed to win the title, finishing on the podium in all six finals this year. After two wins in Pittsburgh, Francois looks to cap off the season with a national championship.

“It’s been a phenomenal year for the team,” explained team owner Csaba Bujdoso.  “I am confident that our pilots have the capability to secure up to three national titles.  The combination of the PCR kart and our personnel has given the team the tools needed to compete at the top level of karting. We look forward to the last round of the United States Pro Kart Series at New Castle Raceway Park.

Checkered Motorsports, the official importer of PCR karts, will be contesting in the WKA Manufacturers Cup Series, GearUp F-Series, USPKS Series, Alleghany Karting Series, and the SKUSA Supernationals.  Tech support, transportation, and arrive and drive opportunities are available.
