New Jersey Sprint Series Announces 2014 Plans

With spring upon us it’s now time to turn our attention to the 2014 rendition of the New Jersey Sprint Series.  In our sixth year of competition we look to build upon a productive off season and continue to provide a great race experience for all.  2014 will offer some new classes along with some old standbys and also some different race day events.

Before we go any further we need to thank our 2014 sponsors.  Once again GRAND PRODUCTS has come on board to be the series presenting sponsor.  Mike Tetreault and the gang at Grand Products are available each day of the week to assist you in all your karting needs, Contact them at 215-244-1940.  Also returning this year as class sponsors are Bridgewater MotorWorks, Direct Airway, Steel Breeze Racing and Contemporary Motorcars.  Bridgewater Motor works is our Parilla Junior Sponsor.  Direct Airway will once again be on board to sponsor Tag Senior, while Steel Breeze Racing is again sponsoring Spec PRD Junior.  Spec PRD Senior will again be brought to you by Contemporary Motor Cars.  Three new sponsors have come on board this year as Blue Bell Technology has picked up the sponsorship of Yamaha Junior.  PTM Food Consulting will be our sponsor for Tag Masters and Church Racing will be picking up Piston Port Senior.  Fastech Racing once again will be giving special awards at select races throughout the year.  NJSS is currently looking for additional class sponsors, barbeque sponsors and daily award sponsors.  For information contact us at info@njsprintseries.com.

Two new classes will be racing with NJSS this year.  Tag Cadet has been added to the class structure.  With the many different engines available for drivers aged 8-12 we have done track testing and compared lap times from many different events and believe we have a class structure that will keep the different engines competitive with each other.  For this age group of Tag racers we will be paying close attention to the class and if weight changes need to be made we will adjust accordingly.  The reason for this multiple engine class was to get the kids all racing with each other.  People can argue that the single engine format is the way to go but at the divisional level it’s imperative to give the competitor a place to race their race package and have a full field to race against.  The most important thing for racers this age is seat time.  This will give them seat time.  Four engines are in the class.  The Micro Max will run at 225lbs, Mini Rok and Mini X-30 will run at 242lbs while the PRD (filter cup 0.462) will run at 260lbs.  For any question about the class please reach out to us.  Also new for this year will be Kid Karts.  This class will allow both the Comer C50 and C51 at 150lbs. Spec gear at 10/89.

The Schedule this year consists of both day and night races.  We have full weekend events, one day night events and also a double header day where we will be running two complete shows in one day.  This we hope will save the karter some money in hotel and travel expenses.  EVENT 1 will be held at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ the weekend of April 25-27.  All classes will run both days and the weekend will consist of two heats and a Feature on both days.  There will be practice on Friday April 25 from 12pm-8pm.  For more information on the schedule of events visit www.NJSprintSeries.com .

NJSS has special room rates for all events at RacewayPark and New JerseyMotorsportsPark.  Visit the web site at www.NJSprintSeries.com for all codes and links to receive these rates.  The hotel for RacewayPark events will be the Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Brunswick.  For the NJMP events the choice hotel will be Fairfield Inn & Suites, MillvilleNJ.
