Drew Lindley Earns Florida Winter Tour Opportunity
Indiana native Drew Lindley earned a shot at some “Serious Fun in the Florida Sun!” through his exploits in the Sportsman Class race at the 10th Annual Newgy Robo-pong 200 at New Castle Motor Speedway. Drew is entered in the ultra-competitive Mini-Rok class at the Florida Winter Tour for the second round at Ocala Gran Prix.
“We are thrilled to have Drew on a Praga Piccolo at Ocala,” noted Praga North America’s Krystle Carrara. “He ran at the front with the best of the best in the Midwest at Robo-pong and we feel his speed and tenacity will translate well to an International level event like Florida Winter Tour.”
Drew proved himself to be a front running competitor in any class, at any track in 2013 and continued his successful ways since scoring podiums in the Yamaha Sportsman, Komet Sportsman and Cadet classes during the opening round of WKA Manufacturer’s Cup competition at Daytona to kick off the 2014 season!
Dan Schlosser (Kartwerks USA): “It’s exciting to bring a driver with Drew’s credentials to this event. He showed us at Daytona that we made the right choice and we are confident that he will learn the new chassis, power plant and track in short order. While this is an award for a job well done, and a chance to get away to warm weather and racing away from the Midwest winter, Drew will have top notch equipment and the opportunity to compete for wins.”
The package will include a 2014 Praga Piccolo kart, which features new upgrades to the chassis that scored USPKS, WKA, GLSS and local wins and Championships. Power will come from an Ogden USA built Mini-Rok package and support will be courtesy of the Praga North America factory team and Kartwerks USA.
Praga North America and Kartwerks USA would like to thank New Castle Motorsports Park’s Mark Dismore and Florida Winter Tour’s Bill Wright for the tremendous opportunity to work together to offer a program such as this back to the dedicated racers. Without their encouragement, support and ideas this program could not have come to fruition.
