WKA, Tri-State Pro Series Teaming for WKA Daytona Dirt World Championships

The World Karting Association and the Tri-State Pro Series, arguably the country’s top Speedway Dirt series, are teaming for the 2013 version of the Daytona Dirt World Championships at the Daytona International Speedway Flat Track. The event – one of the most prestigious karting events of the year – will take place December 27-29.

The WKA-sanctioned national event will run as the Tri-State’s 2014 season opener. Last year, racers were able to use their best finish between Daytona and the traditional February Tri-State opener at Moree’s Paradise Raceway in South Carolina, toward their Tri-State point standings. Tri-State officials will utilize a similar format this year.

Last year’s Daytona Dirt World Championships resulted in the largest WKA national event of the season.

Over 800 entrants competed on the Daytona limestone, where more than $30,000 in cash purses was awarded, in addition to a host of other product awards.

Officials are working to make the 2013 event even bigger and better than 2012. Purse and special award announcements are coming soon.

Entry fees have now been set for the event. Go to HERE to download the 2013 Daytona Dirt World Championships entry form.

To reserve parking, you may either do so on entry form or if interested in front-row, sponsor parking, call WKA’s Keith Shampine at 704-455-1606.

Only $100 entry fee to run two classes

Racers looking to compete in the new Pro Gas Animal classes that will run Sunday, December 29 at the WKA / Tri-State Daytona Dirt World Championships will be able to do so at a very reasonable cost.

WKA has posted a special $50 entry fee for both the Gas Animal trophy class and the big $2,000-To-Win Pro Gas Animal, meaning racers can run both classes for just a $100 entry fee.

Racers competing in Pro Gas Animal must run the Gas Animal trophy class.

The Pro Gas Animal has received a tremendous amount of buzz since it’s announcement a couple weeks ago. The division will not only pay $2,000 to the winner, but each of the top-five finishers will win a new Briggs & Stratton Racing WKA Pro Gas engine. The class winner’s engine will be race-ready while second- through fifth-place finishers will win Briggs Pro Gas Animal engine kits.

Go to HERE to view the 2013 Pro Gas Gold Cup engine rules. Rules for the WKA Dirt event will mirror the Gold Cup engine rules.

The Pro Gas Animal has served as a less-expensive alternative to the traditional methanol-powered Animal.  Here are some of the benefits to the Pro Gas Animal engine as opposed to the methanol.
