Doubles Drivers Chances to Earn Points Towards Series Championships

GoPro Motorplex logoThe GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge club racing series heads into an action-packed, doubleheader weekend with not one, but two chances for competitors to earn points toward their championship battles. GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Round Seven and Eight will run on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22 as two separate race events.

IMPORTANT: As the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge season nears its end, we want to be sure that competitors are aware of the “Drop Rule.” Each competitor’s lowest finish will be dropped from the points calculation. Therefore, the driver with the best nine of ten races will be crowned champion in each class. For the current 2013 GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge points standings, CLICK HERE. The Drop Rule has not been factored into these standings and will only be applied following Round 10 on Nov. 9.

The GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge features club racing for 13 popular karting classes. The twin segments this weekend will follow the same race day schedules with on-track activity beginning at 10:00 a.m. To view the Race Day Event Schedule, CLICK HERE. Round Seven and Eight of the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge will consist of two rounds of practice, qualifying, prefinal and final races for all classes.

Competitors can pre-register for Round Seven and Eight of the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge through Pre-registration will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 for both events. Registration will be $60 for every class, with the additional options to rent transponders for $20 and purchase pit passes for $10.To pre-register for Round Seven and Eight of the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge, CLICK HERE.

Competitors are strongly encouraged to register early, but event registration will be available on the day of each event. However, event registration on the day of the event will increase to $75 per class.

All competitors must run a transponder, if you do not have your own, you will be able to rent one from GoPro Motorplex for $20. All transponder rentals must be purchased with a credit card.

There will be a $10 Facility Entrance Fee for all spectators and crew members. Individuals who have a GoPro Motorplex Membership and competitors will not be charged a Facility Entrance Fee. Kids 10 and under will be free.

GoPro Motorplex will offer camping to any teams wishing to stay inside the facility for $25 per night. Camping at GoPro Motorplex does not include any electrical or water hookups. Please review the Camping Rules if your team plans to camp during the event, CLICK HERE.
