2014 Tentative Florida Winter Tour Information Released
Bill Wright, exclusive owner and promoter of the popular Florida Winter Tour kart racing series, announced today the tentative information regarding the 16th Annual FWT.
TENTATIVE FWT FORMULA KART RACING PROGRAM
Same format as 2013 – three double-race weekends with one drop race-day.
Each race day will consist of; qualifying, a heat race with the start order based on qualifying times, a second heat race with the start inverted from the qualifying times, and a final with the start order based on the points scored in the heat races. The winner of the final will be the daily winner. Cadet will run both heat races based on qualifying order.
Points from the heat races and the final will count toward the FWT Formula Kart Racing Drivers Points Championship. Points from the finals will count toward the FWT Manufacturers Championship and the FWT Nations Cup.

*The Briggs classes are currently confirmed for the March Formula Kart rounds only.

TENTATIVE FWT ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE PROGRAM
A new format for 2014* – three double-race-weekends and one drop race-day.
Friday qualifying. A single ten-minute qualifying session for Sunday followed by a single ten-minute qualifying session for Saturday. This is the same qualifying format as 2013.
Each race day will consist of; a pre-final(s)* and a final.
*If a class has more than the maximum number of karts allowed to start a race (number according to the length of the track, according to the event organizer) the class will be separated based on qualifying times, and two pre-finals will be run, with the top X drivers from each pre-final transferring to the final.
Points from the pre-final and final will count towards the FWT IRMC Drivers Points Championship. Points from the final will count toward the Manufacturers Championship and the Nations Cup.

WHY DO I RELEASE THIS TENTATIVE INFORMATION EACH YEAR ON AUGUST 31?
The purpose of this TENTATIVE release of information is to allow participants to comment prior to the release of the OFFICIAL information no later than October 1.
If there are conflicts or issues that I am not aware of this is the time for those issues to be addressed. BUT…….you must notify me of your concerns for me to address them.

WHAT IS THE FWT?
The FWT is owned and operated exclusively by Bill Wright / Formula Kart Productions (FKP)
The FWT consists of two separate double-race-weekend programs run on back-to-back event weekends each January, February and March.
The FWT Invitational Formula Kart Racing program features TaG, Shifter and Briggs LO206* classes.
The FWT Invitational Rotax Max Challenge program features Rotax classes.
The 2013 FWT featured more than 420 drivers from 26 countries and all six karting continents.
FKP reserves the right to restrict participation in either of the Invitational FWT programs at its sole discretion.
The FWT IRMC is promoted by FKP with permission from BRP/Rotax. The Rotax Grand Finals awards for the FWT IRMC are provided by BRP/Rotax.
The FWT IRMC is not officially affiliated with any single Rotax Max Distributor. Competitors in the FWT are not required to be members of a Rotax distributors licensing program.
Participation in the FWT requires the driver to present a current FIA/CIK National or International license or a temporary WKA membership.
The tracks used in the FWT are not CIK homologated. The tracks used in the FWT are approved by either the World Karting Association or the National Karting Alliance.
