Industry News: Odgen USA Stands Tall at GoPro Summer Shootout

Renowned engine builder looks to add drivers to their line-up

Ogden Racing Engines logoWith countless race wins and numerous championships already under the belt, Ogden USA would add to their already impressive resume this past weekend at the GoPro Summer Shootout. Taking place at the GoPro Motorplex facility in Mooresville, North Carolina, Ogden USA powered drivers would score podium results, a victory in one of the toughest Rotax divisions in the United States as well as fast lap awards throughout the weekend. Utilizing the Shootout as a test for the upcoming Rotax Max Challenge United States Grand Nationals, Ogden USA is primed and ready to fight for championships in berths to Team USA.

Trenton Estep would make the switch to Ogden USA power and immediately showed improvement right out of the gate. Running with some of the top junior competitors that the nation has to offer, Estep held his own throughout Saturday’s main event and managed to score the elusive victory, his first major race win of his young karting career.

“This was Trenton’s first race with our engine package and he noted improvement right away,” explained Ogden USA’s Paul Howard. “He was able to win the day’s main event as well as set the fastest lap of the race. This is a true testament of what we can provide and what we have to offer.”

Sunday would see Estep once again compete near the pointy end of the field. Showing the speed to make a run at another victory, the young pilot would be forced to settle for the fourth position and will now shift his focus to the Grand Nationals in early August.

“Trenton is a perfect example of a driver that was battling for tenth place results before making the switch,” explained Jay Howard. “Same chassis, same driver, just a different engine and trackside support instantly turned him into a winner.”

Kollin Stuart would utilize Ogden USA power in the talent-laden Rotax Mini Max field and score a podium result. Battling changing conditions throughout the day, Stuart drove his Ogden USA powered machine to the front to lead a handful of laps in the main event, but fell victim to another competitor and would claim the second step on the podium.

Ogden USA is now in preparation mode for the upcoming Rotax Max Challenge United States Grand Nationals that will begin in just over two weeks time. With a driver lineup that is second to none, and engine packages still available for lease, Ogden USA is looking to add to their star-studded competitor list. Ogden USA will be trackside throughout the event week to provide tuning advice and support to all customers.

Howard added, “Our goal is to provide top Rotax engines to minimal customers and keep focus to the task at hand. We won’t be pumping out motors to anyone and everyone, but focus on a select few drivers in each division and help them have the best chance at obtaining a national championship.”
