Series News: Northwest Gold Cup Series Swings Back West to Spanaway, WA

The NW Gold Cup Series heads back west after an early season eastern swing and brings their third round of touring kart racing action to Mountain High Raceway in Spanaway, WA June 7, 8, 9. Hosted by one of the oldest active kart clubs the Puget Sound Go-Karting Association, round three of the series will features the northwest’s finest kart racing drivers and race teams.

The NWGC series is proud to be bringing round three of the series to Spanaway, Washington to compete at what is consider by many one of the oldest and most historic racing facilities in the northwest. At over 50 years of age, Mountain High Raceway is an “Old School Sprint” track with elevation changes, off camber twisting turns, it is unique and sure to challenge even the most veteran of veterans who try taming the thirty second roller coaster. With fresh mountain air and a Mt. Rainier back drop, Mountain High Raceway makes a perfect racers or race fans weekend get away.

You can expect to see the best kart race teams and drivers that the northwest has to offer in a host of 2 cycle and 4 cycle powered divisions, ages ranging from 5 to 60. The series also showcases a shifter division which features 125cc powered machines complete with gearboxes, that will reach speeds of 70 plus miles an hour on a .6 of mile 10 turn road course, and looks to be the strongest the series has seen in quite sometime.

There is all day practice and registration on Friday June 7th and two days of race action on Saturday and Sunday June 8th & 9th. Gates open at 7am, Drivers meeting at 8 am and practice scheduled to start at 9 am. Race action is set to get underway just after noon both days. General Admission is FREE to all race fans. Fans wanting a closer look can purchase a paddock pass which will get them into the pit area.
