Continuing their trend of posting remarkable results in the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup series, Top Kart USA left the New Castle Motorsports Park (NCMP) with seven victories and 27 podium results. Taking on the McLaughlin Motorsports Nationals rounds three action this past weekend, the 2012 Manufacturers Cup award winner was on top of their game at the ultra-fast NCMP facility just one hour east of their Top Kart USA headquarters.

“On behalf of everyone at Top Kart USA, we are extremely proud of the team’s hard work and efforts put forth this weekend for the third round of the WKA Manufacturers Cup series,” noted Top Kart USA’s Bill Mclaughlin Jr. “Our momentum hasn’t slowed down, but just now getting started. We strive to be the best and everyone in the Top Kart family helps make this effort possible.”

“As we looked forward to entering round three of this series with a full head of steam leaving Kershaw, SC, the team has set a high expectation for ourselves to achieve even more wins,” added Blake Deister. “The team has a passion and love for karting which we take very seriously and our efforts continue to show on conclusion of the race weekends.”

Leading the way for Top Kart USA was Masters competitor Scott Ferris. After becoming the first father-son duo, with son Tyler, to win twice on the same weekend in WKA history, Scott added both victories in the TaG Masters category to his 2013 results. Saturday’s TaG Masters action also saw Top Kart USA drivers Steve Schiewer and John Ferris III complete the sweep of the top three podium positions, while the young Tyler Ferris scored a third place podium result in Yamaha Rookie.

In TaG Senior competition, karting standout Mason Chelootz put Top Kart USA on the podium twice during the weekend. Finishing P2 on Saturday, Chelootz upped the ante on Sunday after taking the win in the highly competitive category. The Texan also placed second on Sunday in the Parilla Senior class while Austin Elliot placed fourth in the category on Saturday. Jake Johnston would add another third place podium finish in TaG Senior on Sunday.

Contesting several categories, cadet rising star Zach Holden would account for an impressive two victories and an additional three podium results. Placing fifth in Komet Sportsman and third in Yamaha Sportsman on Saturday, Holden would take the checkered flag in the Cadet Sportsman class and top the blocks during the afternoon podium presentations. Holden would then complete the weekend sweep of the Cadet Sportsman class with a daring last corner, last lap pass to nab his second win and add a third place result in Comet Sportsman on Sunday. Lance Fenderson would join Holden on the podium in Yahama Sportsman on Saturday with his fourth place effort.

Yet another Ferris would be victorious in New Castle, as Yamaha Rookie pilot Conner Ferris took top honors on Sunday, with Andrew Bische joining him on the podium in P4. Patrick Olsen added a seventh victory to the team’s tally after topping the blocks in Sunday’s Komet Pro category. Olsen also put Top Kart USA on the podium in Yamaha Senior after his fourth place effort on Saturday.

Kaden Harter would be a double podium finisher in the Yamaha Junior class, posting third on Saturday before improving to second on Sunday. The Sunday podium would also see Top Kart USA team drivers Emerson Reed and Killian Keaveny take fourth and fifth place honors respectively.

Competing the list of podium results would be Bobby Cummings in Komet Pro on Saturday, taking second overall. Chase Jones came home third in the Sunday Yamaha Senior final as did Keavney in Komet Junior.

Bill McLaughlin Sr., concluded, “We are extremely proud of the management of this company and race team, now that I have stepped down the boys are doing a great job, our family unit is strong as ever, and I only see bigger and better accomplishments to follow. Special thanks go out to Mike Tetreault of Grand Products for allowing us the opportunity to expose and promote the Top Kart brand. I want to thank everyone for supporting Mclaughlin Motorsports and Top Kart USA’s push for a second straight year as the WKA Manufacturers Cup champion. One Team. One Family. One Champion.”
