First 50 Entries For Round 3 at Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge Free

American Medical Response lends support for Denver-area events for 2013 season

Riding on the momentum of the opening rounds of the Rocky Mountain Pro Kart Challenge (RMPKC), the series is proud to welcome a new partnership for the 2013 season. American Medical Response (AMR) has pledged its support for the Denver-area events of the series and for the upcoming round three – set for the IMI Motorsports Complex on May 24-25. The first 50 drivers to pre-register earn one free entry fee. Also named presenting sponsor for the two events, AMR will be providing complimentary EMT services with support vehicles for the IMI event along with the series finale at The Track at Centennial.

“AMR’s services and response teams are second to none in the Denver area, and I am ecstatic to have them as part of my team at these events,” commented Rocky Mountain PKC series director Stan Bryniarski. “Keeping our drivers safe is priority #1, and having AMR trackside is a huge step in the direction of overall safety. For the AMR team to step up and want to be part of what we do is great. I can’t thank them enough.”

The first 50 racers who pre-register by midnight on Monday, May 20 for the IMI event next weekend will receive one free entry toward one class (SKUSA or Rotax). The discount applies to the primary entry fee only, as racers will still be required to purchase Friday practice, race tires, pit passes and other associated costs with race entry. Competitors racing in multiple classes will only receive one free entry, and will be required to pay the full amount for any additional class entry. Those who have already registered prior to the announcement will be credited back their entry fee and counted in as one of the first 50 racers. Along with AMR, Falcone Custom Homes and CRG-USA have stepped up to support the RMPKC as Series Sponsors. Miller Motorsports Park and Billet Performance have also offered their support for the 2013 season as class sponsors.

Opening weekend of the 2013 season was at the beginning of May, held at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. The S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto was the largest category of the weekend, as Ben Schermerhorn and Chris Neria split the victories. Neria holds the championship lead, with Christian Schureman close by in second. Lauren Stark was the lone S3 Novice driver, along with Duncan Biles uncontested in S5 Junior. S4 Master was a great battle all weekend, with Justin Peck able to best the field both days and lead the title chase. Mike Beeny won the battle, but Tyler Bennett left the opening weekend leading the S1 Pro championship.

The series has seen a great showing in the TaG Cadet division the past two seasons, and the opening rounds of 2013 were no different. Payton Durrant swept the event with a solid performance all weekend, while Riley Cook came away from the weekend second in points. Scott Falcone matched the same performance, as he showed the way in the TaG Master division. Bob Rodrick was second all weekend with Mike Urban third. Austin Versteeg was perfect in TaG Junior as Angus Watkins trailed. Jason Dempster ran solo in TaG Senior.

The Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge would also like to inform racers of a date change for the finale weekend, set for The Track at Centennial in Englewood, Colorado. The dates for rounds six and seven have been moved to the August 23-25 weekend. The Track at Centennial has hosted an annual charity event – ‘Keeping Kids on Track’ with the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders – and this year was moved onto the originally scheduled Rocky Mountain PKC weekend August 16-18.

“The Rocky Mountain PKC understands the importance of this event. We fully support such activities and hope that our customers can find an hour or two and stop in to support this worthy charity function. We also sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this change in scheduling has caused,” added Bryniarski.
